England wins the 1st ODI by 1 runs vs West Indies

At the last, England gets the test of win along side West Indies. Both the teams passed some nail biting moments at the end of the match. England’s 270 runs challenge felt WI in huge pressure from the first time. The main cause was the gloomy weather and strong wind. The ball took a lot of swim. The match result did not come as well but D/L method.

The host was totally in pressure form the beginning and batted carefully losing early wicket. The second partnership threw them a stable partnership and S Chanderpaul’s batting dreamt then to take the series lead who took 26 runs in a single over of SJ Harmison. Later, the other batsmen were doing well every they were in the leading position before losing the last wicket.

There is not doubt that the Englishmen played really amazing cricket that impressed all of them who loves cricket most. All sections batting, bowling and fielding were remarkable. Their main failure was, they did not take a good runs from that last 10 overs in spite of having 6 wickets in hands.

West Indies vs England 1st ODI 2009: Bowlers and most wicket taker

The test series was not the celebration only for the batsmen but also for the some bowlers. Just one bowler was the must successful although he did not attend in every test. He just played 5 innings and etched the name as the most wicket taker of the test cricket series of West Indies vs England.

Although England lost the test cricket series 1-0 but they played and straggled to take the series on the side of them. But is always true that to win test series in away is very tough jobs.

The most wicket taker title was bagged by the English bowler GP Swann who picked on 19 wickets for the last three Tests and just played five innings. I think England thinks as lot about their fist test any will regent more the absent of GP Swann. The second highest wicket taker was from England side who is SCJ Broad and picket up 12 wickets. By taking 12 wickets West Indies bowler SJ Benn is also in the second position and the other bowers JE Taylor 11 wickets, JM Anderson 9 wickets, RO Hinds 7 wickets, MS Panesar 5 wickets and LS Baker 4 wickets.

West Indies vs England 1st ODI: Batting side of both sides

Once-up-on a time, West Indies and England was the best cricket plying country in the world. No doubt that that was their golden age in cricket history.  The Test series was totally favored of the host. West Indies went on the as the series leaders by winning the first test. It is very easy to say that the batsmen of both team presented a stable batting except in the second innings of the first test. During the tours England had to face another lowest score in cricket history against West Indies.

After 15 years England had to face another lowest score in West Indies, in 1994 they scored jut 46 runs at Sabina Park. The English men scored just 46 runs in an innings and it is the lowest score of the duo. WI scored 47 at Kingston on 11 Mar 2004 and now England is in 3rd position by scoring 51 runs and it was England’s 2nd lowest totals in an innings against West Indies. The tour did not show only lowest score but presented some highest total score too. West Indies’ 749 and England 600 was 3rd and 10th highest totals in an innings.

The five matches test series was full of batting success. More that 17 hundreds came from the both batting sides, when England’s batsmen achieved 9 hundreds as well as 7 from WI side. RR Sarwan was the most successful batsmen who bagged 3 hundreds including one double. Most probably it is the tour in cricket history that presents more centuries. RR Sarwan also named in the most runs in a series by scoring 626 runs and average is 104.33. AJ Strauss from England also bagged 3 hundreds in the series.

IPL T20, Andrew Flintoff and Ashes 2009

Ashes series is very prestigious for the Englishmen. The Ashes-2009 will be taken on from July-August 2009 after the Twenty20 World Cup 2009. It considers that Andrew Flintoff will be the key players for this season. England lost to Australia for 5-0 in the 2006-07 Ashes. But this year Australia is not in good form so it is a big opportunity to take revenge against the Australia

England tours of West Indies. They are now the middle point of the ongoing tour. Now, 4th Test is going on. From the statistics of the previous matches, WI steps a head to take the series victory. But, in the 4th test they have scored 600 runs just loosing 6 wickets.

Cricinfo reported:

Warne, though, felt England need not worry. "The Ashes will be the most important thing to Andrew Flintoff," Warne told Sky Sports News. "If the IPL is going to jeopardise him playing for England in the Ashes, then I don't think Andrew Flintoff will go to the IPL. He'll make sure he's 100% fit. If he thinks he's fit and he wants to go and play in the IPL, no problem at all."

English all-rounder, Andrew Flintoff has been kept out from the 4th Test due to injury. He also signed up with the IPL T20 on the side of Chennai Super Kings. But, he is doubt to join in the IPL T20 second season. Now we have to wait for what the result come.
