What about Sri Lanka team for CB series?

Sri Lankan team is now in Australia after a long interval almost five weeks from International cricket to play the triangular CB Series. Sri Lanka team was played two tests in Australia about 3 months ago when they were white-wash by the host. However, they defeated England in a subsequent home series.

The team already reached in Sydney and their coach Trevor Bayliss ensured in a immediate viva that his team won’t involve in the race controversy between Australia and India concern team. He also said that it looked like those two have over come from the controversy. It was such incident that happens in cricket rare and is pretty quickly forgotten.

Sri Lanka team are practicing in net in a low-key manner in Sydney, on the other hand their opponents have recently finished 4matches VB test Series. Sri Lankan team will play first a practice match against the Prime Mister’s XI. It will be good for Sri Lanka because they did play ODI cricket since the middle of October while they lost a series by 3-2 to England in their soil. They have 6 fast bowlers and one spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, the highest wicket keeper in the world.

The CB Series will be start on Wednesday day 3 with the playing between Australia vs India in Brisbane. After two days, Sri Lanka will face at first to India at Gabba.

Sanath Jayasuriya may Retire form International Cricket

No-one knew that Sanath Jayasuriya would return from test cricket like this. This exit reminds Mike Atherton's embarrassed departure at the Oval in 2001. Nobody knew surely that this was his final innings in Test cricket.

Sanath Jayasuriya deep-rooted, "This is the right time to retire from test cricket". Once before, he had bowed out on this ground against Pakistan in April 2006, then a vicious broken finger quite exactly required his hand. Though he changed on that decision - with some success - in England later that year but at this time his age is 38 so there will be no possibility of come back. “Besides there are some young cricketers coming up, and I wanted to go while on top," said Sanath Jayasuriya. Also he said, "Life without cricket will be tough, but I will still be playing one-day cricket and contributing to the team."

Cricinfo published an article that:

"This is the right time to retire," Jayasuriya confirmed. He had bowed out on this ground once before, against Pakistan in April 2006, when a nasty broken finger quite literally forced his hand. Though he reneged on that decision - with some success - in England later that year, this time, at the age of 38, there will be no coming back "There are some young guys coming up, and I wanted to go while on top," he said. "Life without cricket will be tough, but I will still be playing one-day cricket and contributing to the team."Sanath Jayasuriya

If you see the test statistics of Sanath Joyasuriya then you would seem that he has been a vanishing power in test cricket. When he reached the aggressive 78 then he was obligated to return pavilion for met with a pat on the shoulder. He went back a semi-embrace by the incoming batsman, Kumar Sangakkara, before Sri Lanka's uber-fan, Percy Abeysekera, chaperoned him to the pavilion steps beneath a giant national flag.

This is his second half-century in 16 Tests enlarged back to November 2004.

Most of the cricket fans know that Santah Jayasuriya is a match winner player. It’s proof is gotten to see the statistics of his carrier. How much dangerous he is specially in ODI match understand to see the playing of 1996 World Cup. James Anderson won't forge the anger of his cutting edge in a hurry - his fourth over was lashed for six successive fours, only the third occasion that has been achieved in the history of Test cricket.

Australia vs Sri Lanka Test 2007: M Muralitharan vs Australia and Sri Lanka Test Series

Australia is always crazy on M Muralitharan. Cricketers and the people of Australia did not like him. It could happen for two causes. Australia people and the cricketers are not agree to think anyone similar to Sharn Warn and as they could not play M Muralitharan’s spin well. M Muralitharan is only the player who can spare efficiency fully over them. Australia always tries to find out cause to dominate him. It is Australia, who objected about his bowling action. After ICC’s observation M Muralitharan’s bowling action become ok. But Australia does not stop throwing bad word against him. I think it is not fair. One should contest other with their capability not by mistreatment.

"It's not specific to breaking the record, but it's significant to this point of time," he said. Sri Lankan team manager Shritam Samararatkne said he was delighted with the idea. "I was told by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board that the Australians are going to do something and to co-operate with them," he said. "They are going to do something during the Test match lunch or dinner in Brisbane."

Sri Lanka played many test matches in Australia but did not get the test of victory. Now, Sri Lanka is preparing them strong to break this tradition against the host Australia. Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene is thinking to use M Muralitharan for discomfiting Australia.

Australia vs Sri Lanka Test 2007: Sri Lanka is doing well in the warm up match

Sri Lanka tour of Australia for two tests matches. The first test will take place form 8 November 2007. They are playing some preparation match before test. When I was writing the article, it was after two days after the first tour match and the second match will be started between Queensland and Sri Lanka on 2 November at Brisbane. The first tour math was totally positive for Sri Lanka. Bowlers and Batsmen both were doing well in the three days worm up match. MS Atapattu(56), Jayasuriya (154) and Samaraweera(71) all batsmen did well and the bowlers M Muralitharan, MF Maharoof bowled a very good economic bowl in the math.

Sri Lankan Master blaster Sanath Jayasuriya reminded his previous match and to told that "I made my first test century here against Australia, so I'm quite happy to get another hundred here," said 38-year-old Jayasuriya, who has indicated this will be his last tour of Australia. "It's always good to get a hundred before a test series because you get a lot of confidence from that."

There is no doubt the Australia is the best Cricket Team in the world now a day. Their test winning records are well. They won 12 tests match without break and wrote their name in the record of cricket history. On the other hand Sri Lanka has a very good quality batsmen and bowlers. So the match will be more exciting.

Twenty20 World Cup Cricket 2007: Profile of Sri Lankan Cricketers

Sri Lanka is one of the strong team of South Asia. They won ICC World at 1996. They are also a strong team for Twenty20 World Cup Championship which will take place in South Africa form 11 September. A bad new for them that Muthiah Muralidharan will not attend on Twenty20 World Cup 2007. It is a big anxiety for Sri Lanka.

Mahela Jayawardene (captain)

The Sri Lanka captain is a technically gifted batsman whose form has dipped over the past few months. In three Twenty20 international appearances before this tournament he has struggled, managing only 11 runs at 5.50. Maker of Sri Lanka's highest Test score - a magnificent 374 against South Africa in Colombo in 2006.

Dilharo Fernando

A hugely-promising bowler with the potential to be better but for a career blighted by injury. Suffered two stress fractures of the back in a year, but forced his way back into the Sri Lanka side both times. Offers genuine pace, but can too often be erratic and can leak runs at an alarming rate. Has a good record in his three Twenty20 international appearances so far picking up four wickets at under 20s.

Hasantha Fernando

Recalled to international cricket after performing well in Sri Lanka's domestic Twenty20 competition - the SLC Premier Twenty20 Cricket tournament. In his 16 matches for the Sebastianities Cricket and Athletics club, the all-rounder has taken 15 wickets at better than 20 with his seam bowling and has scored 278 runs at an average of 22.86 as he looks to make quick runs down the order.

Kaushal Lokuarachchi

An all-rounder who bowls legspin, Lokuarachchi is another player who has impressed in domestic Twenty20 action. In his eight matches for Sinhalese Sports Club he has picked up 134 wickets at under 12s and has also scored runs at the death for his side. Has impressed for Sri Lanka's A side and will now be hoping to cement a permanent place in international cricket.

Sanath Jayasuriya

A genuine all-rounder in shorter forms of the game, Jayasuriya's left-arm spin proves surprisingly effective with variations in pace and flight causing problems for most. But it is as a destructive opening batsman he is better known and in his Twenty20 career so far he has scored his runs at a strike rate of over 158. Has experience in county cricket of Twenty20 with Lancashire.

Farveez Maharoof

An exciting young quick who has the potential to be a genuine all-rounder if he can peform more consistently with the bat. Has made 72 ODI appearances during which time he has peformed well with the ball, picking up 90 wickets at under 26s. Has limited Twenty20 experience but his ability to perform well under pressure should help in this form of the game.

Lasith Malinga

His uncomplicated strategy - bowling very fast and very straight - should make him an ideal death bowler in this form of the game. Malinga played in Kent's winning Twenty20 Cup side this year, although he didn't have the same impact as he did at the World Cup in the West Indies where he claimed four wickets in four balls against South Africa.

Jehan Mubarak

A graceful left-hander who will need to deliver on his undoubted promise if he is to keep his place in the Sri Lanka side. Has performed well in domestic Twenty20 cricket for Colombo, scoring at an average of 37.42 in his eight appearances to date. Also a useful offspinner and excellent in the field, Mubarak could excel in this tournament.

Dilruwan Perera

Called up as a late replacement for Muttiah Muralitharan after Murali suffered a bicep injury playing for Lancashire against Kent in the County Championship. Has never played international cricket but is well known as a promising offspinner after performing well at the Sri Lanka spin academy. Has performed well with the ball in domestic Twenty20 cricket for Panadura Sports Club.

Kumar Sangakkara

One of the best wicketkeeper-batsman around, who has impressed in both Test and ODI cricket. Has played three Twenty20 internationals but so far has failed to adapt to the shorter form of the game. But Sangakkara is a player of undoubted world-class and should come to terms with this format soon enough.

Chamara Silva

Silva's call-up to the national side in 1999 was thought by many to be long overdue after heavy scoring in domestic cricket, but since then he has not managed to hold down a regular place in the side, despite a cracking start to his Test career. Has played little Twenty20 cricket so will need to adapt quickly if he is to be successful in this tournament, although he performed well in the World Cup.

Upul Tharanga

An opening batsman who has produced some fantastic innings in ODI cricket, including a century at Lord's against England in 2006. Has made three international Twenty20 appearances but so far has failed to adapt to the shorter form of the game. A capable back-up wicketkeeper who played league cricket in Essex earlier in his career.

Tillakaratne Dilshan

Never quite holding down a regular place in the side, Dilshan is nevertheless a useful man to have around. Pretty much a complete cricketer, he is a steady if unspectacular batsman, bowls useful off-breaks and is lightning fast in the field. Has played two Twenty20 internationals and will be hoping to cement a regular place in the side during this tournament.

Chaminda Vaas

One of Sri Lanka's most dependable performers, Vaas may have lost a yard of pace but he remains a great new-ball threat. With his signature in-dipper, he keeps a tight line and remains perhaps the most under-rated bowler in international cricket. Has played little Twenty20 cricket but should be able to adapt and also provide useful runs down the order.

Gayan Wijekoon

Is an all-rounder of considerable promise who after playing two Test matches against the West Indies in 2005 has been recalled after a two-year spell away from international cricket. Has played eight Twenty20 matches in domestic cricket and impressed with both his left-arm medium pacers and useful middle-order batting.

Muthiah Muralidharan absence is a lack of Sri Lanka but not a weak team.

Bangladesh Tour of Sri Lanka 2007: Bangladesh Wants to Impress

Bangladesh cricket team is now in Sri Lanka. Bangladesh has never won a test or ODI in Sri Lanka. So, the first thing that Ashraful and his team mates have in mind is to win at least one match in the tour. Sri Lanka is the former World Champion and they are in good form now.

The Hindu wrote:

The Bangladesh team visits Sri Lanka after a heavy defeat of an innings and 239 runs in its second home Test match and a 0-1 series loss to India.

But the team’s stand-in Australian coach, Shaun Williams, said it hopes to put on a good performance in Sri Lanka. “We will be tough and we will be competitive,” he told reporters in Colombo on Monday.

Mohammad Ashraful, who has taken over the captaincy, said the team’s main focus would be to improve.

The match Bangladesh vs India and Sri Lanka vs Pakistan

The match Bangladesh vs India and Sri Lanka vs Pakistan

The four cricket teams of the subcontinent are playing their matches. After finishing the ODI series Bangladesh is playing test match with India. But I have to write about the past ODI between India and Bangladesh at Mirpur in Dhaka. In that match Bangladesh beat by India. But Bangladesh pacer Mashrafee Mortuza’s batting showed the light of win to the fan’s of Bangladesh. In that match Mashrafee took 26 runs from Dinesh Mongia’s over with four sixes. But Indian bowler blow up all the hope and Bangladesh lost the match.

In Abu Dhabi, UAE, Sri Lanka just has finished its match with Pakistan. But the story was becoming strange when Pakistan needed 60 runs from 72 balls. At that time Sri Lanka’s Leg spinner M Bandara came for bowling. Shanid Afradi Who is well known as a hard hitting batsman in the world. He took 32 runs from the last over of Bandara which was 4,4,6,6,6,6. There was a huge six in that over.

World Cup Cricket 2007: what will be in the Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka?

From the last performances, we can observe that Bangladesh did well and also the last match between Bangladesh vs. India. It is clear that Bangladesh is doing well. Today (Bangladesh Time) Bangladesh will play with Sri Lanka. In this match, all fans are waiting to see the new miracle.

Stuff New Zealand reported:

Sri Lanka crushed Bermuda by 243 runs. India won by a record margin of 257 runs to remain in the race ahead of Friday's must-win game against the islanders.

Sri Lanka feel Bangladesh would have no fear because of the number of young players in their ranks, coached by Dav Whatmore, who also guided them to Cup glory in 1996.

"We should give credit to Bangladesh the way they have played," Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan said.

"We should not be surprised (by their wins) anymore.

"We started in 1982 (by getting our test status) and in 14 years' we won the World Cup," he said on Monday. "They haven't delivered in the past but they could after this World Cup."

The fast-improving Bangladesh, granted test status in 2000, would again pin their hopes on their young guns against a team they beat last February.
