Cricket officials are public servants Indian Supreme Court

In a ruling the Indian Supreme Court has upheld the Kerala High Court’s view that the cricket officials of Kerala are public servants. This will create a very far reaching effect on Indian Cricket administration that from now onward anyone can sue against the cricket officials. The Kerala Cricket Association tried to established in the High Court that the Cricket Association is a private body and cannot be tried under The the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, which applies only to public servants.

Justice VS Sirpurkar and TS Thakur comprised the bench. The KCA president, TR Balakrishanan, and secretary, TC Matthew filed the appeal against the Kerala High court. But the Bench rejected the appeal and explained that the Kerala cricket board enjoys monopoly on cricket in the state and so does public function. So the cricket body must be tried under the public law. The BCCI is such a body and KCA is a member of it.  BCCI is consistently trying to hold that it was a private body.

The original case was filed two years ago in a vigilance court in Kerala by Balaji Iyengar who was, a chartered accountant and former Kerala junior cricketer. He sued against KCA. The vigilance court gave the judgment holding that the cricket bodies are private body. Then the complaint went to high court and won the case.  Afterward KCA appealed to Supreme Court.

The complainant, Balaji Iyengar , a chartered accountant and former Kerala junior cricketer, had filed the original complaint against the KCA in the Vigilance Court two years ago. The court ruled in favor of the KCA, saying its officials were not public servants, but Iyengar challenged the ruling in the High Court.

Although Hewlett-Packard is playing the roll of the title sponsor, it was the sponsor of the IPL T20 cricket tournament.

David Warner: The Twenty20 Specialist for Australia

Australia’s hard-hitting batsman David Warner is now considered to be the future of Australia’s batting in twenty20 format of the game. Big hits come naturally to Warner who has become the first ever Australian cricketer to earn a national call up even before playing any first class cricket for his state New South Wales.

David Warner smashed a blistering knock of 89 runs off just 43 balls in his debut match against South Africa at Melbourne. Captain Ricky Ponting compared David Warner with former wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist. His excellent batting performance earned him a lucrative contract with IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils. Daivd Warner has 177 runs at an average of 35.40 in his five twenty20 innings for Australia.

There is no doubt, David Warner is considered to be one of the key performers of Australia in the upcoming twenty20 world cup 2009 which is all set to go underway on 5 June. Now, let us see if the 22-year-old can live up to the expectation of the Australian fans.

Winning the one-day series Indian camp is dreaming to take the lead of the Test series. The first Test match of the cricket series will be kicked off on 18 March 2009 at in Hamilton.

India has played more than 19 Tests matches in the away grounds of New Zealand when they just won 4tests only and the test of Hamilton is the 20th test match against New Zealand. By wining 10 tests cricket match the host is leading ahead. India last won over New Zealand by 8 wickets on 24 Jan 1976 in Auckland.

The success records last five matches of India is good but NZ’s record will not bring any anticipation. But, the Black Caps are very positive in their home series although they have no victories in the last five as well as India did get a loss in the last five where three wins and two draws.

India have proved that their batting line-up is very strong than any other teams at this moment. In the all matches they played in the couple of months, especially after taking the responsibility as a captain MS Dhoni leads the team. Sachin Tendulkar has back to his form as well as Virender Sehwag has stepped up three from his pervious position. Yuvraj Singh comes to the top ten list as an all-rounder.

The Pitch is very friendly to the batsmen and Indian already has introduced with it before. Wining toss and bat first will be a steps of entering in to the win-win session and the pacer will get extra facilities for this flat wickets. Weather concern is the big fact of the ongoing tours. But, the test will supposed to be free from this worried and they day will be hot and clear.

New Zealand has played 14 Test cricket matches at Seddon Park in Hamilton whenever bagged six wins, six drawn and two lost as well as India played three Test cricket but does not get any win. They had to satisfy with two drawn and one lost.

Test Squad of both teams:

New Zealand (likely): 1 Tim McIntosh, 2 Martin Guptill, 3 Daniell Flynn, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Jesse Ryder, 6 James Franklin, 7 Brendon McCullum (wk), 8 Daniel Vettori (capt), 9 Kyle Mills, 10 Iain O'Brien, 11 Chris Martin/Brent Arnel

India tour of Sri Lanka is uncertain

India has stopped the tour on Pakistan after the massive Mumbai terrorist attack during the cricket match along with England in the home soil. Now, Indian cricket team has not tour in with in tow month that is why BCCI has proposed to Sri Lanka to host an ODI series whenever Sri Lanka has also been stopped their tour of Pakistan.

CricketNext reported:

According to Chief Administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty of the BCCI, there has been no official communication with the Sri Lankan Cricket board in this regard.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, has stepped in to tour Pakistan. But their Sports Minister said on Sunday that the tour would be split with Sri Lanka returning home after the one-dayers to play five games against India.

Although the time schedule is not fixed yet, even the Sri Lanka did not show any green signal to the BCCI. Most probably, both the counties are thinking positively about the ODI series. On the other side, India has a tour of New Zealand on 06 Mar 2009. BCCI has requested to the New Zealand Cricket to add one test match during the tour.

India vs England 2nd test 2008: watch live Rahul Dravid’s steady batting

Rahul Dravid is looking like an impregnable wall in the PCA Stadium. In an article I wrote that Red signal for Rahul Dravid: will he step down from Cricket? In the first day, during the second test he has proved that he has still in form and can protect any miserable moment. Although, there was no more unexpected incident in the first day of the 2nd test that is taking place in at Mohali, Panjab. Now, it is a question to all that if Rahul Dravid proposes to the BCCI stepping down from the international cricket what they will decide?
After the first test, bad performances of him, in all media it published that what is coming in Dravid fate? Most of the news media published that he would have been changed batting order and could come to number five. But, breaking all rumors he comes to creases just after the earlier wicket of Virendar Sehwag.
I have quote these lines from Sky Sports
"It is a cycle. Sometimes you are at your peak and at other times you are down. It happens to all players at some point. Even I have had my ups and downs."

35 years old Rahul Dravid already has informed to the chairman of selectors about his poor runs for the last 11 tests. So, it has already has created a question about his good runs. Anyway, we all have to wait what the decision comes after the test.

Red signal for Rahul Dravid: will he step down from Cricket?

India has own the first test that was held in Chennai. That is very positive sign for the Indian players in test cricket against England. In the odi series India secured victory 5-0. Bowlers and batsmen moved jointly to acquire the white-wash victory. But, in the in first test, it was totally different. Most of the batsmen crumbled doing nothing.

The most dependent batsman Rahul Dravid is in the top position in this line-up. Although he was he was ahead just adding 7 runs in the two innings in the first test in Chennai. This promotion has been sent him back in the batting order. He was the batman who used to come to bat in second down but in the second the he will bat in the 7th position.

What do you think about this change in the playing XI? I think this is red signal for him to step down from the international cricket. By analyzing his previous 11 tests, it will not satisfy any of the fans who loves cricket more. May be his average is just 22-plus. After Sourav Ganguly, this is the time of Rahul Dravid retires from the international cricket.

Champions League and ESPN's Broadcast Rights

The Champion League’s inaugural Twenty20 club-cricket tournament was scheduled from 3 December 2008 but is was postponed for the terrorist attack in Mumbai. It is hoping to make preparations on the earlier next year but I am not sure about it because of ICC’s tight schedule. Although, it a club to club game where the players will take part on behalf of the different club of England, Australia, Pakistan and India but form India IPL T20 team Chennai Super Kings will take part.

Aiming to make popular the club cricket, BCCI scheduled to organize The Champion League’s inaugural Twenty20 club-cricket tournament and ESPN Star Sports secured the telecast right for next 10 years. But Mumbai attack stopped all plans.

Business Standard reported on 7 December 2008 “At least, Rs 280 crore of ad-revenue was expected from the first Champions League tournament for which ESPN Star Sports paid $975 million as the telecast rights fee for the next 10 years. It was expecting to recover more than half of Rs 430 crore (Rs 4,300 crore for 10 years) from the inaugural tournament from advertising revenue, ticket sales, among other options.”

In the inaugural Champion League’s inaugural Twenty20 club-cricket tournament eight teams will take parts and the match will be held in selected three venues. Chennai Super Kings is one of he popular and strong club of the Indian Premier League and champions of the inaugural IPLT20 Rajasthan Royals and the other hand Middlesex very popular in English Premier League.  Sialkot squad is form Pakistan Victoria and W. Australia are from Australian.

Ind vs Eng 4th ODI 2008: Live score Streaming TV and Timing

If you want to get live score and updates of the India vs England fourth ODI then visit the following link:

http://cricket-news-bangladesh.blogspot.com/2008/11/india-vs-england-4th-odi-2008-live.html

Indian and England will take on each other on Sunday (23 November 2008) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore in the fourth ODI of the ongoing series. India needs only one more win to claim the series as they are already leading 3-0 after winning all three matches held so far. For England, it is a must-win match in order to keep the series alive. England batsmen are struggling against Indian spinners, while English spinners are struggling against Indian batsmen. These are perhaps the top most problems England has been facing in the series so far. So, England batsmen must be more confident against Indian spinners like Harbhajan Singh, while England spinners have to provide enough support to their pacers. For India, Sachin Tendulkar is all set to come back in ODI cricket after a long time and Rohit Sharma might be replaced by Sachin Tendulkar.

Irfan Pathan has been back in the squad for the 4th and 5th matches in place of Rudra Pratap Singh. However, rumors available in the media suggest that captain Dhoni had disagreement with the selectors about Irfan Pathan’s selection in place of RP Singh in the squad. Anyway, England team will play Graeme Swann as the specialist spinner, while Samit Patel and Kevin Pietersen will help Swann with their spin. I think, playing both Samit Patel and Graeme Swann together is a good decision. Cricket fans of both sides are eagerly waiting for this match as it could decide the series.

Live on TV

NEO Cricket will telecast the match live for the Indian cricket fans. However, cricket fans of India’s neighboring counties could also enjoy the match live on NEO Cricket. Besides, NEO Cricket will also share the feed with DD Sports and the match could be available for the Indian fans on DD Sports too. However, I got surprised when the third ODI was telecast live on DD National. So, I think, either DD National or DD Sports will telecast the match live for the Indian fans.

Sky Sports will broadcast the fourth ODI live for the cricket fans in England. In fact, Sky Sports telecast the first three matches as well. So, if you are in England, then Sky Sports is the channel you should tune on to enjoy the fourth ODI live.

Timing

The fourth ODI between India and England is going to be a day/night match. So, the match kicks off at 14:30 IST (Indian Standard Time) and at 09:00 GMT. Tomorrow is Sunday, the government holiday both in India and England. So, cricket fans in India and England may not have much problem to manage their time to enjoy the live action of the match on television. However, the only concern is that it has been forecast that there could be shower in Bangalore tomorrow. In that case, it would be disappointing for the cricket fans.

Live Score and Updates

There are many online live score websites from where you can find online live score and updates of the match. Here, I am giving some names of those websites:

Cricinfo
Cricketnext
Cricket.sulekha
stickcricket
cricpoint
cricbuzz
squidoo

I hope to see an exciting match between India and England in the fourth ODI. I think, so do many other cricket fans too.

India vs Australia: Spinner will be the turning point to win the Test Series

Ahead of the four-match test series against Australia, Indian coach Gary Kirsten has said that spin will be the big arm, which can be the series-deciding factor in the upcoming test series between India and Australia. Most of the venues in India favor for spin attack. So, spin will be a key factor in the upcoming test series.

Selectors of India team have called up third spinner, Amit Misra, as back-up for the star spin pair Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh for the first tow Tests. Tourist Australian cricket team will have to struggle hard with just one spinner Jason Krejza when one of their key spinners Bryce McGain left out because of shoulder injury. He was one of few players who could acclimatize with Indian sub-continent condition. Australia should feel the void of leg spinner McGain in the main squad. However, all rounder Cameron White has been named to replace Bryce McGain in the Australian team. It is not sure whether the only one off-spinner Jason Krejza can go over the world strongest batting line-up who are best to play against spin attack.

The pride of India’s strong spin attack comprised by veteran Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh is the cause of aware for Gary Kirsten. Though, he is confident about them because he knows that these bowlers can snatch the win from any condition.

He also urged his team not to raise the controversy which was published last month. He was suspected after asking retirement of five veteran players based on one test series in Sri Lanka who are into their 30s. They are: Anil Kumble, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman.

However, Indian cricket team will try hard to ensure the best use of home condition against top ranked team Australia. Who do you think can win the series: India or Australia?

India vs Sri Lanka ODI vs Mendis and Murali

The Test series result between India and Sri Lanka goes on Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka took the series trophy by 2-1 standings. During the first and 3rd Test, the unstable batting turn down the dream to win the series. As a key player Mendis and Murali played the important role. This will inspire to take the ODI winning standings. The first ODI match will be taken place on 18 August 2008 at Dambulla and the match noticed as a full day match and according the IST it is going to field at 10:00AM and 04:30 GMT.
Here in an important quotation what is thinking the host captain? Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardena in fact expressed confidence of winning the one day series following their success in the longer version of the game. However he noted that they still need to improve in all areas of the game and is hoping that the players would work hard to achieve their goal.
Although, in Asia Cup Cricket, India played very well and stable cricket match but in final they beat seriously to Sri Lanka. Here two spinners, Mendis and Murali was the best performers especially the debuted spinner Mendis. Now, Sri Lanka is thinking to use them as a turning point and magic stick for the five ODI match series.

Three teams has got Confirmation to play IPLT20 Semifinal

Before three matches left it is roughly assume that who are going to lead the IPL T20 Semi-Final. Three teams have confirmed its position to play in the semifinal. Everyone has to wait for just one or two match.

When Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians, it opens the door of Delhi Daredevils to play in semifinal. Now, the match between Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers could confirm the teams who are going to play in the semifinal. If Chennai Super Kings could win alongside DC then CSK is confirm to lead or the fans have to wait for the next match between Mumbai Indians and Bangalore Royal Challengers. If Chennai lost the match and Mumbai Indians won then MI will lead the semi-final. There is no way to play in semifinal for MI without victory.

Rajasthan Royals is leading the top of the Point table by acquiring 11 victories out of 13 and one match is still left. This is team that was bid in low price. But the combination of the players is superb. The team just lost 2 matches. In the first match against Mumbai Indians lost, by beating the second match it takes the revenge. The victory has grown the mental strength and makes MI rootless.

King XI Punjab is holding the second position of the point table (standings). This is another team that could not lead the team well in the first time. By the time being it has become well equipped in bowling, batting and fielding. This is an unbelievable improvement. The Punjab has one match left and will meet with the top team Rajasthan Royals. In the last match Punjab was beaten.

Delhi Daredevils is being leaded by V Shaweg. Although the team played better in the beginning of the tournament, but the finishing did not come well. It is leading the 3rd position but before the match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, it was like a pendulum. Now it is confirm to lead semifinal.

India vs England 7th ODI: Detailed Analysis and Live Score Sites

The venue of the 7th match of the NatWest Series between India and England is Lord's Cricket Ground. It is well known to the cricket lover in the world as the home of Cricket. According to the history, cricket was invented from this ground. The 7th and final match of the seven matches NatWest series is going to take place at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday, 4 September 2007.

Ground History: I will not discuss more about Lord’s Cricket Ground, just a simple on it. The ground was established on 1814. The capacity is 30000. First test match played England v Australia - Jul 21-23, 1884 and first ODI played England v Australia - Aug 26, 1972. As I am describing about the ODI so I will not mention more about Test Match. 44 ODI played here form 1972. If you want to know more just visit lords website, wikipedia, circinfo etc.

Weather Reports: According to the weather forecast report, it will be partly cloud and temperature will be High: 23° and Low: 13°. As the match will be held by day so this temperature is well for cricket. I think according to the cricket language this weather will help the pacer most.

Winning Rate: Among the 44 ODI matches England took part in 36 matches and won 17 matches with the different cricket teams in the world. But the wining rate with India is not good. England and India faced each other 5 times but England beat India only one time. On the other hands India faced with England 5 times and won 4 times. So the wining rate is favor to India. Anyway, we can not come to the result by depending on this statistic. As the 7th match of the NatWest series is important to both the team. For the final result we have to wait for Saturday. Will it hold its history or break the history?

Lord’s is the last venue of the NatWest Series-2007 between India and England. In the seven match series the result is 3-3. Lord’s will dismiss the result who is the winner of that series.

Who will Win the NatWest Series?

After winning the last math, at Oval, India comes to 3-3 of the seven match series of NatWest series. Last match, 6th match was played at Oval and India won this match. So you should understand that the 7th match is important both the teams. Everyone is thinking that who will able to achieve the crown of the victory. I you will say Indian will but I think England is not lees important than India because they are not less important than India if you look over the previous matches. For the final result we have to wait for Lord’s match where the 7th match of the NatWest will take place.

If we observe the last six matches we can consider easily that India has lost three. Why did they loose? What was the main fact of their defeat? In the every match their main fault was the early downfall of the top order batsman and the non-responsible fielding and other big cause was the slow movement of running between the wickets. The last mach India won and the man of the match award went on Sachin Tendulkar. In an interview with the commentaries he was asked about the slow movement for running between the wickets. Sachin answered cleverly that 4 and 6 increase the run rate but single run is important for a match. Indian skipper Rahul Dravid also answered some questions of the commentaries that were important.

In the last match between India and England, Indian batting, bowling and fielding performance was very good except Yuvraj one over. I discussed on my articles in many time that if India control the fielding and top order batsmen’s early downfall then they could covey all the impossible to possible. It is very good example the last match. If India keens to do well on the 7th or final match at Oval Cricket Ground then they have to follow this theory which was brought success on 6th match.

I think, Indian supporters are praying for their favorite team. No doubt that India did well for their good movement on the last match. It is proved that India can do everything. The 7th match will select who will be the series winner of he seven matches NatWest series.

England was in a step before the 6th match of the ongoing Natwest series. They also own three matches too. They tried to come concluding on the 6th match but Indian batting stopped them and told that we will come to conclusion at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. But I think that the previous they played very not good it is best. As everything has a result so as a result they had to loose three matches. It does not mean that they did not play well. I think these will inspire them to do well as well as raise their hope to win the 7th or final match too. Now Lord’s Cricket Ground will bring the final result. We can easily guess that English’s conditions were very well. If we make a short look on the previous matcher, we easily can see that in the first they defeat seriously India by 104 runs. On the second match, although they lost to India but it was 9 runs and they did 320 runs. In the third match they did only 282 but India did not reached to the target for their strong bowling and fielding. In the fourth match England’s lower order batsman basically bowler’s job was like a middle order bats man. On 114 they lost 7 wickets but the two batsmen strong and steady performances reached England to the target without loss. As a result England defeated India by 3 wickets. That’s mean the can do anything anytime. What will be the position of the England team what happened in their fate in the next match of the NatWest series?

Both the team will fight in strong strength at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. Now their position is 3-3 so we can not think now who will win. Who will ware the victory of crown? Just wait for 8 September 2007.

Series Live Telecast and Live websites

The 7th is important to both the team. As usual ESPN or Star Cricket will telecast live between the match England and India for the Lord’s Cricket Ground. The 7th or final match of the Natwest series will telecast also. India Television channel DD National (DD-1) will telecast the series also.

Different websites will display the live Scoreboard in it’s different view. A shot scoreboard ball by ball commentary is more attractable. Among them the popular cricket website Cricinfo is best and Indiatimes well for knowing details about he match. The popular satellite TV channel ESPN will show the live scoreboard too. You can visit the links below:

Indian Keens to win the Series!

After winning the last match, now India has become strong in mentally. Now they are thinking to win the NatWest series. Yes, they can think because of their very good performances and the top order batsmen’s back to the form.

Times of India has posted a bid article on it. In this article it has described the reflection of Rahul Dravid who is the skipper of Indian team. India then seemed to be cruising as Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly put on 150 for the first wicket, only for the momentum to tip back England's way after a series of wickets.

Robin Uthappa, though, kept his nerve amid the chaos, scoring an unbeaten 47 to win the game with two balls to spare.

"We got a bit of the rub of the green, but we have shown a lot of resilience after a long tour," Dravid went on. "It should be a cracker of a game at Lord's."

He had particular words of praise for his much-decorated opening duo.

"When you're chasing 320 you need to get off to a good start," Dravid said.

"They got 150 which make a big difference - especially on a slow wicket when you know it'll get harder to play shots.

If India wants to win the series then the top order batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly needs to play a responsible match like the 6th ODI. Robin Uthappa’s performance also inspires them to do well.
