Cricket South Africa president Mtutuzeli Nyoka accused CEO Gerald Majola of lying

Cricket SA president Mtutuzeli Nyoka accused CEO Gerald Majola of lying to him over IPL bonuses issues. Dr Nyoka and Gerald Majola fell into a clash in 2009 when a report was published that Majola and few other SA officials received bonuses for successfully hosting ICC Champions Trophy and Indian Premier League.
However an international investigation was made and Majola was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Talk Radio 702 breakfast host John Robbie interviewed Dr Nyoka after a report that he was asked to resign from his post. Dr Nayoka refused saying that he was neither fired nor he himself rosined but was called by a letter to make his position clear.

Robbie said about the interview Dr Nyoka said he was told none of the Cricket SA officials were given bonuses over the IPL and it was a lie. Nayoka also said expressing deep dissatisfaction that cricket is not a secret world an also not Stalin’s Russia. He also said Cricket SA will never be able to bury the truth. Nyoka made an unconditional apology over the way he treated Gauteng Cricket, Barry Skjoldhammer and the Wanderers.

Dr Nyoka said in 2009 that no international cricket would be played in Wanderers till Gauteng Cricket Board apologies for alleging Majola saying he mismanaged the Indian Premier League (IPL) event. After that Skjoldhammer was forced to retire from his post.

Stephen Fleming to coach India?

Stephen Fleming has rejects the report about home that he would take over the responsibility to coach India after the world cup. Fleming is the former captain of 'New Zealand with an experience of playing 111 Tests and 280 ODIs. Rumor has flown that Fleming is going to succeed Gary Kirsten in being the coach of the national cricket team of India after the world cup cricket when Gary’s contract will end.

Fleming told the 'New Zealand Herald' at this moment he is not interested in coaching. He is enjoying his business and wants to give more time to his family. In Indian Premier League he is the coach of the team Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Stephen Fleming retired from 'New Zealand team in 2008.

2011 World Cup the most expensive cricket tournament

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is going to be the most expensive cricket tournament with a proximate cost of over 100 million$ .The tournament will be co-hosted by India Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Pakistan, the fourth Test-playing nation in South Asia, was kept beyond the list of co- host nation due to security concerns.

14 countries will compete for the most prestigious cricket trophy.. In group A the defending champion Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya will play among themselves. Group B includes India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands. The nations will play 52 matches in total.

The tournament will continue for 43-days. 52 matches will be played in 13 venues of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Sri Lanka will host 12 matches in three venues with one quarterfinal and one semifinal match. 4 matches will be in Bangladesh. All the rest 36 matches are going to be hosted by India. The final is scheduled to be held on April 2 at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium.

India’s Final 15 Men Squad for 2011 World Cup

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the final 15 men squad. The committee has skipped middle order batsman Rohit Sharma. They have picked up off spinner R Ashwin and leg spinner Piyush Chawla, but before the selection the committee was very worried for some of the top players were in injury especially when Sachin Tendulkar got serious injury in the last one day with South Africa. At last they included Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and bowler Praveen Kumar chief selector K Srikkanth said it is a balance team and we are satisfied with the selection. We believe the team has the strength to do the thing they need to win the cup.

The final includes- MS Dhoni (capt), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, Piyush Chawla, R Ashwin.

Ogilvy Mumbai Started Campaign for ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

ICC has started one of the biggest cricket campaigns for Cricket World Cup 2011 to raise cricket spirit world wide. The campaign will go across the sub-continent. The campaign has been conceptualized by the Marketing Team of ICC and Ogilvy Mumbai. This is going to be the biggest sport promoting campaign in the sub –Continent The campaign started with the launch of  TVC titled ‘Tightrope’; watch the TVC here.

The Cricket World Cup is the biggest and most prestigious tournament in the game.14 countries will battle for the cup .India Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are co-hosting the tournament this year. Every team has a great covetousness to win the cup. More ever the Indian sub-continent has extra fascination for cricket. Keeping all this in mind an all-round campaign has been created for India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh including the mediums like- TV, Print, Outdoor, PR Digital and Activation.

The ‘Tightrope’ has been used metaphorically to denote the idea that every cricketer, every country, every fan wants to win the race to the cup But it is very difficult and for every player it is like walking on a tight rope. The shoots have been taken across the city of Joypur for five days. The captains from most of the playing nations, more than 400 fans and tight-rope walkers from USA and UK took part in the commercial. Bob of Good Morning Films has directed the film and Dhruv Ghanekar has composed the music.

There is also the theme song titled ‘De Ghumaa Ke’. Shankar Ehsaan Loy has Composed and sung the song. It has been released on radio channels across the country. ICC will also arrange contests, place count-down clock in venue cities, airport, and busiest shopping malls.  There will also be very specially designed ICC CWC 2011 branded vans.

Ogilvy has started nationwide school approaching campaign along with UNIAIDS to reach 70 school and involve 10000 students in an AIDS awareness campaign and Inter School Mini World Cup tournament.

Big Bazaar is the authorized dealer of Cricket World Cup 2011

ICC has appointed Big Bazaar to sell special cricket merchandise for World Cup 2011 in India as authorized dealer.

Big Bazaar is a chain of shopping mall in India. It works on the same economic model as Wal- Mart. Big Bazaar has 29 outlets in India at present. It is owned by Pantaloon Group.

Big Bazaar will deal in cricket merchandise designed for men, women and children. This cricket merchandise will be priced from Rs 199 to Rs 499. The apparels will include sports attire and accessories like active dry tees, shorts, sports tees, track pants, sweatshirt, head bands and caps, Big Bazaar will also keep a very special type of show piece which will bear cricket-inspired messages. They will also keep a type of  toy called “Stumpy” tagged with the official mascot of the ICC WC 2011.
