Perhaps, Nathan McCulluam is going to miss the first match of New Zealand with Kanya on Sunday in Chennai. He was hospitalized on Thursday night for high fever and discharged on Saterday morning. Though Mc Cullum is fit to play, Daniel Vettori, the captain won’t take the risk to play him as the match is against a weak team.

2011 World Cup the most expensive cricket tournament

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is going to be the most expensive cricket tournament with a proximate cost of over 100 million$ .The tournament will be co-hosted by India Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Pakistan, the fourth Test-playing nation in South Asia, was kept beyond the list of co- host nation due to security concerns.

14 countries will compete for the most prestigious cricket trophy.. In group A the defending champion Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya will play among themselves. Group B includes India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands. The nations will play 52 matches in total.

The tournament will continue for 43-days. 52 matches will be played in 13 venues of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Sri Lanka will host 12 matches in three venues with one quarterfinal and one semifinal match. 4 matches will be in Bangladesh. All the rest 36 matches are going to be hosted by India. Pakistan has confirmed to play Super Eight Twenty20, 2009

The teams which will play in the second round, super-eight of the ICC World Twenty20 in 2009. South Africa bagged 3-2 series wins over Australia

In the last match of the series Australia beat the host South Africa in the last one-day international of the five-match series. Australia has to face second series defeat to South Africa. BCCI denied Pakistan’s offer?

Pakistan has requested BCCI to schedule a tour in the middle of March. India is playing a Tri-Nation CB Series in Australia. After finishing the series the team will back to home at the end of the first week of March. So, how it is possible for the team? BCCI explained about the next tour that will be start form last week of March. The most important thing is that India covering a long tour without rest so they need to rest. BCCI officials are also responsible for their payers.

"The players have had a long and strenuous tour of Australia and will return only on March 8 or 9," Niranjan Shah, the board secretary told Cricinfo. "They have to assemble for the South Africa series on March 22. So it will be really tough to play three ODIs in between.”

It is clear, why Pakistan is requesting BCCI for a short tour of three ODI because Australia is not agree to make a long tour in Pakistan and if BCCI agrees then Pakistan will not have to long rest before Australia tour.

The Pakistan board, it is learnt, were confident that the tour would go ahead and had already began preparations for the three games, all scheduled for Lahore. The decision from the BCCI - taken by the office bearers today - was conveyed to the PCB chairman, Nasim Ashraf, by his Indian counterpart, Sharad Pawar.
