The most popular sub-continent Sports Television Channel ESPN STAR Sports, always serves for the spots fans of this area. This time it has secured the telecast right of Olympic Games 2012 that will be held in London and 2010 Winter Games Vancouver.

The network will telecast the London Olympic Games in 22 countries across the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia.
It will provide over 200 hours of coverage for the London Games and over 60 hours of coverage for the Winter Games.
In addition, ESPN STAR Sports will broadcast Olympic golden moments from over 30,000 hours of Olympic Games archives.

ESPN STAR Sports is the pay channel for Asia and the channel, the International Olympic Committee allowed telecasting the Olympic Game live. Asia TV viewers could have enjoyed the Games and FIFA World Cup and 2009 Confederations Cup at that time.

Sri Lankan squad for the First Test with new but reliable players

Sri Lanka selection board has declared their squad for 1st Test alongside India in a good combination. Beside six batsmen it also announced four bowlers the total number of 14 members. We cannot see the mane of all-time best player Sanath Jayasuriya in the Test Squad because of his retirement form Test matches. The name that is coming in media with a bold and big word is Ajantha Mendis whose magic movement beat India in the Asia Cup Final.

The first Test of Sri Lanka vs. India will be held on 23 July, 2008 at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo in Sri Lanka. Ten Sports will telecast the matches with English Commentary, and Tony Greig, Ian Bishop, Ranjith Fernando and Arun Lal declared in the commentary control panel. Beside the English commentary Zee Sports will telecast the test series live with Hindi commentary.

Dinesh Karthik is the positive for Indian team

India is Sri Lanka to play a Test series. They have played practices alongside with Sri Lanka Board XI. Dinesh Karthik is not a regular Test player but for the tour he has been selected for Sri Lanka tour. During the pre-match of first Test that will be taken place on 23 July 2008, he has shown very good and positive performances. He proved that an experienced company can lead the team well which Sachin and Karthik did. In Dinesh Karthik’s speech it is clear.

"It is always helpful if you start the innings with a player like Sachin. He gives you confidence and tells you how to pace your innings," Karthik said. "He was telling me to take my time and play. It was not a wicket where you can come and start playing shots. I was trying to do that."

Dinesh Karthik who is an irregular wicketkeeper of India team, has got chance with the Test team for the absence of ODI captain MS Dhoni. India’s earlier 5 wickets downfall made difficult to overcome 224 runs. But Sachin Tendulkar and Dinesh Karthik’s strong partnership moved India in 196 runs.  

Australian Olympic basketball team announced

 

Australia has announced its Basketball Team for the upcoming Olympic Games that will be held on Beijing and China. The proclaimed team is thinking to be a powerful to win the Gold in Basketball event. Some of powerful players in Basketball of Globe including Bogut, Chris Anstey and international stars David Andersen and Matthew Nielsen named in the 12 men Squad.

"We really have a talented group of guys going over and if we can push through the first round we have the ability to surprise everyone with our results," he said. "We're right up there with the European teams at the moment."
