Live score, analysis, India vs New Zealand, 3rd ODI 2009 in Christchurch

The tour of India of New Zealand is going on, two twenty20 and two one-day international matches have been over and when New Zealand won the T20 series and India is leading the one-day series just winning the single out two. The second odi was abandoned for bad weather. Now, the third one-day cricket is the key point to make the series equal for NZ as well as taking more lead of the series. The third one-day cricket tournament is going to place in Christchurch

In spite of bad weather India won the first one-day cricket match by D/L method. But the second one-day does not bring result. Winning toss India selected to bat first and scored 188 runs from 28.4 overs. It was a one-side match. Due to heavy rain the Umpires decided to stop the match. India opening batsmen V Sehwag and SR Tendulkar both begged a half-century each. After a long time, Little Master Tendulkar has able to drive his bat. G Gambhir also sacked 30 runs from 65 balls. In the first one-day Goutam Gambhir was not in the squad but opener V Sehwag scored another good runs that was 7 from 79 balls.

A simple change in New Zealand squad

If may bring some changes in New Zealand squad in the 3rd ODI that is going to take place on 8 March 2009. The host is behind a step after losing the first ODI alongside India. It hopes there could change too in the 2nd ODI, especially Brendon McCullum who faced thumb injury but he come to field to dominate Indian bowlers. But for the 3rd ODI, it expects that captain Daniel Vettori should keep out because he is going to become a father of a child. But her wife Mary is facing little bit problem that is why he may not present in the 3rd ODI against the guest India

In his absence, Jeetan Patel will cover the gap of spin side. Jeetan Patel was debuted with ODIs on Aug 31, 2005 against Zimbabwe. He just has played 37 ODIs and picked up 42 wickets. The best bowling figure is 3 wickets to 11 runs. He used to play first class Cricket on the side of England Lions. Although the latest bowling figure is not good, he just picked up one wicket in the last five-ODIs against Australia

It expects that there will be not changed in that squad. The T20I winning hero Brendon McCullum will be available as well. Although the 2nd ODI was proponent for bad  eather but in the first, ODI MJ Guptill played the roll as key batsmen who scored 64 runs from 70 balls.

India has returned to the winning way after losing in the last two T20 and New Zealand is inspiring from the ground supports and also hope to returns of key player of t20 win Brendon McCullum. But India is looking very positively about second win over the host. Sachin Tendulka who did not do well in the first one-day, is in the squad for next.
India vs New Zealand
Second one-day International
Date & Time of play: 6 March 2009 Local time14:00, (01:00 GMT)
Live TV: NEO Sports, DD1
Online Live Score: Crifinfo, Cricket Nirvana
Venue: Westpac Stadium

Pitch condition: The second one-day international (ODI) is going to take place at Westpac Stadium, Wellington. The condition of that will be a little bit slow. So, batsmen have to bat very carefully. This condition is very positive for the India batsmen. May be, these kinds of pitch supports the spin ball well. India has a big supports from this side. The opposition has also some bowlers who can bowl technically and Captain Daniel Vettori will be the turning option. New Zealand’s weather and the players’ experiences will be supportive and inspire them to take the lead and will able to balance the series. But India batting side is well known over the world they can turn back anytime. Virender Sehwag has already said that if India's batting clicks, they can score 300 in every game. Even so, New Zealand couldn't have chosen a better venue to level the series. It's their favourite venue and Daniel Vettori said his players feel very comfortable playing here.

Injury in both sides: Although New Zealand has declared the squad for the 2nd ODI and Brendon McCullum’s name is chalking in there but if he does not recover then Peter McGlashan will be replaced. In the previous T20 international McCullum’s role especially in the second T20 match. Indian key bowler Ishant Sharma has been kept out from the squad even he did not attend in first ODI. Praveen Kumar was replaced in the absence of him. May be he will not attend in the second ODI too.

Winning record at Westpac Stadium: As a host New Zealand have always positive in their home tournaments. Even, if you look over the last matches records it will draw you attention that they won 10 matches and five losses. The ground has very positive for them. But, in the last five matches he just has secured one wins from the most recent matches. On the other hands India has got 4 wins.

India is leading the ODI series after winning the first one-day international of 5 matches’ series that was held at McLean Park, Napier, on 03 March 2009. The second match will played at Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Due to bad weather, the authority reduced the match to 38 overs in stead of 50 overs. India 273 runs from the fixed overs were really base to throw the challenge to the Kiwis. New Zealand also accepted the challenge seriously. Again, rain created a barrier and again they reduced and fixed for 28 overs.

After beat to the host, the guest was in pressure and make up mind storage to take the series lead and aimed to present a massive score to the opposition. Indian openers V Sehwag and SR Tendulkar stated well from the stars although SR Tendulkar went to the pavilion just begged 20 runs from 43 balls but V Sehwag stands strongly and scored 77 from 79 balls when he hits 11 fours and a single six. Indian caption MS Dhoni and V Sehwag stands India in a stable position and he personally adds 84 runs. Hard hitter Yuvraj Singh has to return Pavilion by run out by Vettori. Middle order batsman SK Raina also plays very relax mood. He scored 66 runs. At the end MS Dhoni and YK Pathan finished the innings and total score comes 273 runs. So there is not doubt that all the Indian batsmen did well except Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh. I think India batting line-up will be inspired for the first one-day match and will able to take the series lead win more wins.

When India threw and strong challenge to the host New Zealand they could bowl comfortably. They did not face any pressure. The attacking bowlers Zahir Khan and the young Praveen Kumar started very well and felt New Zealand trouble as a result 5 wickets just after 111 runs. Harbhajan Singh personally picked up 3 wickets for 27 runs just from 4 overs. Although Z Khan picked up one and P Kumar took two wickets but they able to make a big pressure over the New Zealand batsmen.

The first ODI was over and India got the win by 53 runs in D/L method. Now, four one-day matches are still left. Those are very important for both teams. New Zealand is always unique in its home series and able to beat any teams. Anyway, in this article I am just explaining about the venues rest of the matches of this series. The first match whenever India beat New Zealand at McLean Park, Napier on 3 March, 2009.

The second ODI will be held at Friday 6 March and the local time 14:00 local, 01:00 GMT at Westpac Stadium, Wellington. The match was originally schedule on March 17, 2009. The second T20 international New Zealand v India was held on27 February, 2009 when India beat to the host. The stadium usually used for the multi-purpose but mainly used for Rugby tournament. The ground was opened for all in 2000 and the first inaugural match was a one-day tournament that was held between New Zealand v West Indies - Jan 8-9, 2000.

The third ODI match venue between India and New Zealand has been selected the AMI Stadium in Christchurch on 8 March, 2009 at 14:00 local, 01:00 GMT but it was originally scheduled for March 20, 2009. Due to ban Pakistan tour India proposed to visit New Zealand earlier of the fixed date. AMI Stadium basically used for Rugby and it will be the main venue of the Rugby World Cup 2011. Although, the cricket matches has been organized in this stadium since 1930 but the day-nigh match inaugurated in 1997 after adding the lighting towers in 1996. The first T20 international match was held at this ground of the ongoing series whenever the inaugural Twenty20 was arranged on Feb 7, 2008 between New Zealand and England.

Seddon Park, Hamilton is the play ground where fourth one-day international will be kicked off on 11 March. The time schedule of the match is 4:00 local, 01:00 GMT. According to the weather forecast, there will be a small speed breeze during the match starting time. Seddon Park is the home venue of Northern Districts' Cricket Association. Since 1956-57 the first Class cricket was held here but the international cricket was placed in 1991.

The final tournament of the ongoing series along-with India will be placed on 14 March 2009 at 14:00 local, 01:00 GMT and the venue is Eden Park, Auckland. No test match will be kick off at this ground of the thrice. As the venue is used for Rugby and Cricket that is why to keep the cricket pitch well the authority makes it as a removable. In 2011, it will host two Rugby World Cup Finals. Although Eden Park is fit for Test and one-day cricket but no test match will placed at this tour.
