Indian XI is going to face Pakistan XI in their first match of the ongoing ICL 20-20 World Series, 2008/09 tonight at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad with both sides looking to start off well in the tournament. Indian Cricket League (ICL) has recently organized the 20-20 Indian Championship which saw Lahore Badshahs winning the title. Pakistan XI seems to have an edge over the Indian XI, considering the fact that almost all the players played together in the 20-20 Indian Championship, except Abdul Razzaq and Taufeeq Umar. Their triumph in the tournament will also energize their mental strength and confidence. Indian XI, on the other hand, consists of players only from India, but their players did not play together during the recently finished ICL 20-20 Indian Championship. So, Pakistan team does surely have an advantage in this sense.

Having said that, Indian team also has some quality players like R Satish who was pretty much successful in the recent tournament, becoming one of the top five run scorers with 287 runs at an average of 47.83. There are some other key players like Reetinder Sodhi, S Abbas Ali and Ali Murtaza who did not see success as a team, but individually they were successful. One of the interesting things about this season of ICL is that players showed the guile to do better and there was improvement in their game in every department.

For Pakistan XI, they have some inform players like Naved-ul-Hasan who won the man of the series award in ICL 20-20 Indian Championship thanks to his consistent performance both with bowl as well as bat. He was the highest wicket taker with 22 wickets from 11 matches at an average of 12.77. His hard hitting batting in one-down was instrumental behind Lahore’s many wins in the tournament. Another all rounder Abdul Razzaq, who played for Hyderabad Heroes, was perhaps the second best all rounder in the tournament. Pakistan XI also has aggressive openers like Imran Nazir, who was the highest run getter in the recent tournament with 392 runs, and Imran Farhat. In the middle order, they have batsmen like Inzamam-ul-Haq and
Mohammad Yousuf. So, Pakistan seems to have a balanced squad.

India vs Pakistan match is always something special to the cricket team. I hope, it would not be different either in ICL.

Good Crowd in ICL Second Season

It has been some more than two weeks for Indian Cricket league (ICL) and we have seen many matches being played. It is a reality that There are very few big record stores who play in this league. So, there was fear that ICL second season could become a big flop. It seems that there is nothing to worry about and India is still a very good place for arranging cricket tournaments. ICL organizers should feel very happy to see that they have a lot of spectators in the stadium for most of the matches. In fact, in some of the match is there is a full house crowd and there are more than 20,000 spectators.

It is simply an amazing to see that so many people are going to the stadium to watch these matches. But no one could think that it would become so popular in such a short time. BCCI officials have tried their best to destroy the little league and still they are doing their best but it seems that they are not having any success at all in destroying ICL. Instead, ICL that is becoming stronger day by day.

ICL Forms Cheerleading Squad 'ICL Zeebras' Led by Rakhi Sawant from Bollywood

Usually known for her item numbers, Rakhi Sawant will now be known for her cheerleading skill with 'ICL Zeebras', the new squad formed by Indian Cricket League (ICL) authorities recently. ICL recently launched India’s first indigenous cheerleading squad led by Bollywood sensation Rakhi Sawant. All the eight beautiful girls were picked up by Rakhi Sawant following the audition.

With ICL’s second season going underway from October 10, Indian Cricket League organizers are now busy with their last minute preparation. 'ICL Zeebras' will perform during ICL matches across its four venues- Gurgaon, Panchkula, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. 'ICL Zeebras' will be seen performing for the first time at the opening ceremony at Hyderabad on 10 October.

Rakhi Sawant is happy with ‘ICL Zeebras' squad and is looking forward to lead the squad during ICL tournament.

Rediff reported:

"It was after my performance at Panchkula during ICL's Season One, that I saw a huge opportunity about a possible Indian cheerleading squad. That dialogue got resumed a few months later and culminated in the formation of the ICLs Zeebras. I can't wait to don my Zeebra outfit and break into a jig every time Rohan (Gavaskar) or Raviraj (Patil) hits a six. I am sure, this will be one cheerleading squad that the country will remember for a long time to come.", added Rakhi.

This year, Indian premier league teams hired cheerleaders from America. However, the American cheerleaders created criticism with their short outfits while cheerleading during the IPL matches. Now, it will be interesting to see how Indian people will react to the performances of ICL Zeebras during ICL matches. However, we can assume that ICL authority will keep the Indian culture in mind while featuring cheerleaders to entertain the crowd.
