Semi-Final Twenty20 (T20) Australia vs India: India versus Ponting Less Australia

In the second semifinal between India vs Australia will take place at Durban at IST 21:30. But Australia will play along with India without Ponting. Absence of Ponting, Gilchrist will lead the team. It’s a very bad news for Australian. During the match along with Pakistan, Ponting suffered a hamstring strain while batting during Australia’s six-wicket loss to Pakistan at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Tuesday night. Ponting’s injury, which did not allow him to field against Pakistan, comes ahead of Australia’s must-win clash against Sri Lanka in Cape Town on Thursday.

Ponting may not attend the 7 matches’ series along with India form 29 September. Team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said Ponting have to rest two or three weeks. As the series durations are 19 Sep to 17 Oct, so Ponting hope that he could attend last two matches.

"Brad Haddin has been added to the touring squad and will take part in the Indian tour until such time as Ricky recovers. Although Ricky's injury is very disappointing it gives us an opportunity to recognise the outstanding performances of Brad Haddin domestically and in his limited opportunities for Australia in the past 12 months."

Pontinng’s absence would suffer Australia both Twenty20 and tour of India. Anyway, we hope that he will come round soon and will back to the team.

Super Eight (super-8, T20) Twenty20 World Cup: what are the key points of Australia Team for Semi-Final & Final?

Super Eight (super-8, T20) Twenty20 World Cup: what are the key points of Australia Team for Semi-Final & Final?

Teams of Semi-Final and schedule

South Africa v India of the super-8 Twenty20

Australia will play semi-final & final of Twenty20 (T20)!! Is here any doubt? I think no doubt about it. In the first match Australian beat Bangladesh easily. On 18 September, Australia will take place along with New Zealand at Kingsmead in Durban.

During the first match of qualified Australian scored a very poor of 138 runs. On that day, the unexpected batting destruction of Australia did not help them to build a comfortable score. As a result they lost the match by 5 wickets remaining 1 ball.

On the second match along with England, England did not do more that 135 runs against disgusting bowling and Australia reached the target and lose two wickets.

Australia played the first Super-8 match along with Bangladesh and the Australian bowlers did not give any opportunity to make a big score and stopped a small score of 123 runs. To reach the target Australia had to lose only one wicket.

Here bowling was the key point of Australia. Australian pacer B Lee’s hat-tick was the main turning point for making a short score.

While wickets can fall quickly in this slog-fest form of the game with wild swings and catches on the boundary, all three of Lee’s victims were genuine bowler’s wickets.

The first was left-hander Shakib Al Hasan, who was caught behind attempting to cut a shortish ball too close to him. It was a length Lee bowled regularly to the Bangladeshis, who are not used to short-pitched fast bowling.

His second wicket was Mashrafe Mortaza bowled by a yorker and the third Alok Kapali leg before wicket to a full delivery.

Things became even more bizarre when Lee almost bowled Farhad Reza with another yorker from the next delivery but it was a no ball, which gives batsmen a free hit at the next ball in Twenty20 cricket.

Both of sides batting, bowling and fielding are well in the team so they could see the dream of winning the trophy.

Twenty20 World Cup Championship 2007: Australia vs Lee’s comments

For Twenty20 World Cup Championship 2007, Brett Lee is an important man for Australia team. He did not attend in the ICC Championship for his injury. With some media Lee told some lacking of his team openly. On Wed 12 Australia vs Zimbabwe at Cape Town and Fri 14 Australia vs England at Cape Town.

These comments are from 24 news "We aren't the most experienced team and there will be a bit of pressure on us, but we have to try and get into the game as quickly as possible and think on our feet, and learn as soon as we possibly can," Lee said.

"Twenty20 is a game we don't really have a lot of experience in and it's going to be a major challenge for us.

"It's the team that works out what's going on quicker than their opponents that will take out the championship."

"I think if you've got a guy who can bowl genuine pace it's an advantage."

I think Lee’s frankly words did not mean that they are weak.

Twenty20 World Cup Championship 2007: Australia vs Zimbabwe and Andrew Symonds

Second day of the Twenty20 World Cup Championship 2007, world champion Australia and Zimbabwe will play at 12 September 2007 at Cape Town. There not doubt that Andrew Symonds is one of the best player of ODI and Test. In his International Twenty20 career his achievement is Pld:4 Ave: 62.50 HS: 54* Wkts: 7 Ave: 13.85 Best: 2/14. So, it is one of he positive side of Australia team among others.

David Lloyd has written that probably the best one-day cricketer in the world. He will field like a demon - nothing gets past him in the covers.

He is always worth a couple of wickets with his mixture of seam-up, little away-swingers, slower-balls and off-cutters. He is an under-rated bowler in one-day cricket.

And when he has a bat in his hands there isn't a cricket ground big enough for him. He is the complete Twenty20 cricketer. He is a colossus is that lad.

Twenty20 World Cup Championship 2007: Ponting to back for T20

At the last moment of leaving the home aim to T20 in South Africa, Australian Captain Ricky Ponting fails to join with their crew for his wife’s unexpected illness. After reaching South Africa, Australia took part in some practices matches. They beat New Zealand but lost along with South Africa. Ponting declared that he might join the T20 world cup in South Africa if his wife will come round.

THE AUSTRALIAN reported "Fortunately Rianna's health has improved over the last few days and I'm hoping travel plans can be finalised as soon as possible," Ponting said in the statement.

"I'm grateful for the support we've both had from Cricket Australia and my team-mates and in particular I'd like to thank (vice-captain) Adam Gilchrist and (coach) Tim Nielsen for their leadership roles in the early days of the Australian squad's first-ever Twenty20 international tour.

"It made things easier here knowing the team was in such good hands.

"With things on improve; Rianna and I are both keen that I now focus on the job at hand with the Australian team."

There is no doubt that Ponting is an important person of the Australian Cricket. Without him Austalia will be a boat with a rudder in South Africa on T20 world cup championship 2007.

Twenty20 World Cup 2007: Australin may miss Ponting for Twenty20 world Cupu!

At the eleventh hour of the preparation and before the time of Australian team left to South Africa the questions arise that the Australian captain Ricky Ponting will not go to the attend the twenty20 world cup which will be in South Africa from 11 September 2007.

Cricket20 reported that he will not join for his family problem and the opinion of that Vice-captain Adam Gilchrist would not elaborate on Ponting's family-related issue, but is confident the captain will be available in time for the opening match against Zimbabwe on 12 September.

"I've been in touch with him and he said he's most likely at the moment to join us again in a few days' time, but we'll just wait and see how things pan out over the next few days," said Gilchrist.

"He is obviously disappointed not to be with the team for the start of the tour and has asked if his privacy could be respected in the meantime."

I am not sure, what is the main factor of the absence of Ricky Pointing. All are hopping that he will join on the first match on 12 September along with Zimbabwe.

Twenty20 World Cup 2007: Australia is Inexperienced!

Australia is ready to play Twenty20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa from 11 September 2007. Lee is already in the team and other players are strong in their own position. So there is no doubt that Australia is one of the most favorite in the Twenty20 World Cup 2007. Describe about the teams stability, England’s ODI Skipper Paul Collingwood expressed his belief that ….

Australia have played only five Twenty20 internationals but Collingwood maintained that their lack of experience in this format would not give them a disadvantage.

England have played Australia twice, and beating them comprehensively in a 20-20 tie at Southampton in 2005 but when they toured Australia they lost at Sydney in 2006-07.

"Most sides will be going in pretty equal - they've [Australia] obviously got a lot of skills and power so they're going to be a massive threat. I'm sure they'll come up with plans of how they're going to attack the Twenty20 format - it'll be interesting to see,” Collingwood told sportinglife.com.

Not only Collingwood but also the cricket intellectuals will be agree with him because if we look thorough the performances of ten years they lost a few matchers. Also its strong batting and bowling help them to reach this position.

Now Brett Lee is confidence about his performance and Australian too. It was bad luck for Brett Lee that he did not attend the last ICC World Cup Championship that was took place in Jamaica. He is happy that he will attend the next Twenty20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa. Lee thinks that Australia will be champion Twenty20 World Cup 2007 too.

Reuters reported, "Twenty20 cricket has got a lot of merit because it is only a three-hour game," Lee said on Tuesday.

"Parents can take the children down after school," he said. "On a hot day, it won't start until afternoon and there is lot of entertaining cricket as well -- people hitting sixes, stumps flying everywhere."

Lee’s expectations have important because in ICC ranking Australia is number one, if observe last ten years you easily understood about their performance how they did.

Twenty20 World Cup : Australia team wishes to like Word Cup

In spite of some experienced player’s departure, Michel Clarke is confident Ricky Ponting's team will continue to enjoy success. Although Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Justin Langer and Damien Martyn take retirements from the team but Brett Lee returns make them confidence.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported:

"The selectors have shown confidence in all the players from the World Cup and hopefully we will take that form into the Twenty20," Clarke said.

"We're all feeling fit and strong and, in such a short amount of overs, one player can win a game. We have a lot of talent in our squad, a lot of guys who can win a game on their own," Clarke told reporters in an ICC conference call from Sydney on Wednesday.

The previous victory makes Australia confidence. They won the ICC Championship Trophy last three times. So they will try to achieve this trophy too.
