Pakistan and Twenty20 world Cup: Twenty20 semifinal vs ICC World Cup Semifinal (1992)

Pakistan and Twenty20 world Cup: Twenty20 semifinal vs ICC World Cup Semifinal (1992)

Pakistan reached Final beating New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first semifinal of Twenty20 world Cup in Cape Town. In this moment I want to remind the readers who saw the ICC World Cup in 1992 and who did not see just know that what was the result at semi-final. Pakistan played the semi-final along with New Zealand. At that time, Pakistan beat New Zealand also won ICC Trophy by beating England, that time Imran Khan was the captain and that was his last world cup may he retired from International Cricket. The ICC championship was hosted by Australia.

Source Cricinfo:

Shoaib says: "First of all I want to thank you my team-mates. It's a great win, our bowlers, they're bowling brilliantly at the moment, they contained them."

Vettori says: "It just wasn't to be this time. We've been ragged with our batting. It's bitterly disappointing and I know the boys will be hurting a lot."

Shoaib again: "We are going to improve on our mistakes for the final where we will give 100 per cent."

Umar Gul is the deserved Man of the Match, with 3 for 15. "We have done a lot of hard work for the Twenty20, a lot of practice for yorkers, bouncers and the slower ones. We hope to continue with the same performance and I will try my best to perform the same way."

So, like 1992 ICC Final Pakistan suppose to win the Twenty20 Trophy. And the captain Shoeb Malik’s Dram is coming true which he told the media. In a international online newspaper The News reported a news with the heading “Skipper wants T20 crown”. Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik said his team was looking beyond tomorrow’s semifinals after they laboured to a four-wicket win over Bangladesh in their final World Twenty20 Super Eights match here at the Newlands on Thursday.

Pakistan and Twenty20 world Cup Final: Pakistan teams in T20 Final

Pakistan and Twenty20 world Cup Final: Pakistan teams in T20 Final, It is very good news for Pakistan that they has reached to the final of Twenty20. The Final match will take place in Johannesburg on 24 September at 1200 GMT / 1400 Local. I gave the last over mainly victory over below.

Pakistan, then, are the first confirmed finalists in the first Twenty20 final… and aren’t they enjoying it? There’s even an on-pitch cartwheel from one of the support staff. They deserved to make it all the way, after suppressing New Zealand who had chosen to bat, then easing to the six-wicket victory.

18.5 Patel to Shoaib Malik, SIX, huge six over midwicket – massive pull that’s caught somewhere in the crowd who have now, as is traditional, gone wild

Vettori looks at once glum and resigned to his fate

18.4 Patel to Shoaib Malik, 2 runs, dropped. Nathan McCullum made good ground to meet the ball deep near the midwicket boundary

Smiles in the dug-out – they can sense their final place right now

18.3 Patel to Misbah-ul-Haq, 1 run, swept easily behind square for a single

Pakistan in sight of the final now

18.2 Patel to Misbah-ul-Haq, SIX, and is instantly punctured with a straight six over mid-off

The pressure’s building

18.1 Patel to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, driven out to a straight mid-on

After some time we all will be con firm that which team will going to play along with Pakistan in Johannesburg.

First I am describing about Pakistan team. In the first match of qualified round Pakistan beat Scotland by 51 runs. In that match Pakistan went to bat first and a big scored of 171 runs. Running behind these runs Scotland became all out at 120 runs. But in the second match along with India, they drown and the result became that Pakistan lost by bowl out. Here we can not think that Pakistan was a weak team, both bowling and batting were well.

In the super- 8, Pakistan will play semi-final with full of strength because they beat some strong team, ICC 50-50 world champion Australia and another strong team Sri Lanka and another team was Bangladesh. We can to tell Bangladesh as weak team because in the qualified round they beat West Indies and the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the super- 8 round, Pakistan had to pressure to beat Bangladesh.

In the match along with Sri Lanka in the Super- 8, Pakistani batsmen did 189 runs against the strong bowling of Sri Lanka. In spite of being strong batting-line-up Sri Lanka did not score more than 156 runs against the strong bowling of Pakistan. The second super- 8 match Pakistan played along with the ICC 50-50 world champion Australia and beat by 6 wickets. Although Australia scored a little bit big of 164 runs but Pakistani batsmen jumped over this runs by losing 5 wickets only.

I think all the cricket analyst will agree that Pakistan has reached to semi-final by fighting strongly with many strong teams. If they would do so, then they could play in the final. Here I want to remember the ICC 50-50 world cup at 1992, Pakistan reached semi-final and final with different barred and at last they won the World Cup by beating England. In this stage there is no difference.

The other team already has reached in the semi-final is the ICC 50-50 world champion Australia. Here is nothing to say that Australian has won the ICC Trophy last thee times. The last time they won the trophy unbeaten. Although Australia did not do well in the qualified and super- 8 round too but can fire any team any time. In the first match Zimbabwe beat Australia by 5 wickets. It is clear that they did not match with this format. But in the second match Australia beat England by 8 wickets.

After expiring the qualified round Australia is doing well. They beat Bangladesh by 9 wickets and Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Day by day Australia is returning in their form and strength. Lee had told in a conversation that they did not experience on Twenty20 format. His comments are coming true. In the first match they have been beaten by Zimbabwe and form the second match they were turning back although the beat by Pakistan in the super- 8 round.

During the first match of qualified Australian scored a very poor of 138 runs. On that day, the unexpected batting destruction of Australia did not help them to build a comfortable score. As a result they lost the match by 5 wickets remaining 1 ball.

On the second match along with England, England did not do more that 135 runs against disgusting bowling and Australia reached the target and lose two wickets.

Australia played the first Super-8 match along with Bangladesh and the Australian bowlers did not give any opportunity to make a big score and stopped a small score of 123 runs. To reach the target Australia had to lose only one wicket.

Here bowling was the key point of Australia. Australian pacer B Lee’s hat-tick was the main turning point for making a short score.

We all know about the strong blowing and batting line and fielding too. By observing the entire match, it is clear that Australian is improving day by day. So it will not be fair that is a weak team as they had beaten by a weak team Zimbabwe and Pakistan in the first and super- 8 round.

From the Group E, India is going to play semi-final. After overcoming a long moment with South Africa they become qualified. By beating England in the super-8 (Super eight) series of Twenty (T20), India move up the expectation the million of Indian fans and turn over their concentrating to Twenty20 world Cup Championship because most of the cricket fans live in South Asia almost India. Absent of India form Twenty20 World Cup, is painful for all the fans. India beat England by 18 runs, in the same time; million of fans return their senses. In this match Indian won the toss and selected to bat first and scored 218. Most of the Indian batsmen came to the form, as a result India able to build the big scores of 218 runs. In this match G Gambhir, V Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh scored well and the success came easily. Here most important matter was Yuvraj Singh’s 58 runs. Now, he is the owner of the world record who took the quick fifty by 12 balls and took 36 runs in one over. Running behind these long scores, England did 200 runs. So it is clear that Indian bowlers did not do well in that match.

The last match of super- 8, India played along with South Africa. In this match India scored 153 runs by loosing 5 wickets. India lost some early wicket and fall in trouble but other drawn the match as a result the run came totally 153. Running behind 154 runs South Africa did not do well against the India and scored 119 runs by 9 wickets. In spite of doing well South Africa deprived to play the semi-final of the T20 world cup championship.

Despite of winning two matches South Africa would not play the semi-final for less NRR. For high NRR, now New Zealand will play the semi-final with Pakistan.

Along with India in the first of Super- 8 of Twenty20 (T20) Daniel Vettori produced a superb spell of spin bowling as New Zealand beat India by 10 runs in the first game in the Super Eights's in Johannesburg . Vettori took 4-20 as India squandered a flying start in reply to New Zealand's score of 190 all out in Johannesburg.

Oram earlier made 35 in a crucial stand of 73 with Craig McMillan for the Kiwis after they slumped from 69-1 to 91-5. The pair struck seven sixes between them but the innings ended in chaos with four wickets falling in the final over, including three run outs.

Second match of Super- 8 of Twenty20 (T20) New Zealand played along with England and England lost four wickets in as many overs to slump to 106 for five with 6.2 overs remaining, and then lost three more wickets in quick succession in the dying overs. But a determined 60-run stand off 42 balls between Styris and Craig McMillan put New Zealand back on track and guided them to their winning total. Batting cautiously at first, the pair accelerated at the halfway stage of the innings with Styris hitting Dimitri Mascarenhas for three successive sixes as New Zealand added 44 runs in three overs.

A brilliant piece of fielding from Maddy swung the momentum back in England's direction just as New Zealand had set their sights on a major score. Pushing for a quick second run, Styris was left short of his ground after a brilliant pick-up and direct throw from Maddy at mid-wicket to run him out for a 42 off 31 balls.

The total matches has come to end with full of misty. It again proved that there is no end word in cricket. It could turn over in any side. So the first match will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand in Cape Town and the second semi-final will be played between India vs Australia in Durban.
