Sri Lankan ODI Squad without Chaminda Vaas

I personally am a big fan of Chaminda Vaas. Recently, he has retired for the Test match but is interest to go on his career in ODI cricket instead the sectors has recalled Lasith Malinga for the ODI series. To take on Pakistan in the home series he has been kept out for the declared 15 men squad. 37 years old, record touching bowler M Muralitharan has been drawn his name in the squad. Thilan Samaraweera, the middle order batsman also been identified to make the middle order strong.

There are some changes in the declared squad than the team men who visited Pakistan in January this year. Jehan Mubarak, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Farveez Maharoof, Dilhara Fernando have been out from the team but three new names have been added here.

Sri Lanka visited Pakistan on January and won the series 2-1 when Tillakaratne Dilshan scored most runs of 255 and Muttiah Muralitharan picket up 6 wickets and the highest wicket taker on the side of Lankan team.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan ODI series 2009: Pakistan Squad

Pakistan has been beat to Sri Lanka in the three matches Test Series. Perhaps, this is the first test series wins for Sri Lanka team. They beat the visitors 2-0 and taking preparation to take on gust for a one-day international series. I still did not get the information that who will be the team members for the five ODI matches but Pakistan recently had declared the Squad of 16 men where shortly returned Abdul Razzaq’s mane is twinkling. But Mohammad Asif who has been selected for the ICC Champions Trophy that will be held on September in South Africa this year which was scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2008, has been moved for the security concern.

More than and number of four players who signed with the rebel and unauthorized Indian Cricket League, have returned to the team. Among them Abdul Razzaq was permitted to play the international cricket earlier in the World Twenty20 in England. Mohammad Yousuf attended on the side of Pakistan in the recent Test Series against Sri Lanka. Other two names are Imran Nazir and Rana Naved who are going to play the international match with Sri Lanka.

To tell truth, Pakistan cricket board has selected a very stable team for the one-day international series to take on Mendis and Kumar Sangakkara men. The ODI will be started from 30 July 2009. I will give another post one the Time Schedule of the one-day international series Sri Lanka vs Pakistan.

India vs West Indies ODI series Schedule, Timetables

Defending Twenty20 Champions, India, has lost the title to Pakistan this year but pulled out for the super-eight round of the ICC World Twenty20, 2009. A great embarrassment for India gays in spite of performing well in some previous tour and home series but could not do anything positively. They also had vast opportunities for practice in Indian Premier League season-2. Indian Coach Gary Kristen blames IPL for his players’ fitness that cause bad perform in Championships. I also agree with him and supported highly. BCCI protested strongly over his comment. They can do because it is question of huge amount of money.

Just finishing the World Championships, India has flown away to West Indies for their next tours. They will play a One-day international series of five matches. India already has reached in WI and taking preparation. Having taken responsibility, Indian team is visiting WI along with Kristen, the former South African opener and the honorable, responsible coach of Indian team.

The first match will be held at Sabina Park, Kingston on 26 Jun 2009. Before the match time they will not play any preparation matches. All the matches have been scheduled as a day-light match because Indian fans can enjoy the matches.

According to Indian local time, first two matches will be commenced on at 20:00 at Sabina Park, Kingston and rest of the two matches will be at 17:00 at Gros Islet, St Lucia

Like India, West Indies also kicked-out from this season without playing finals but had an honorable position than the visitors. West Indies bit to Sri Lanka in the semifinals stage. There is not doubt that Caribbean men did well in all stages. No doubt that India will try heart and soul to regain them and will back to the sequence of wins.

Pakistan vs Australia 1st ODI 2009: Australia Squad including Andrew Symonds

Andrew Symonds was in injury long time. Most probably, he did not take parts in home series when South Africa visited them even the series against New Zealand. Just before the Pakistan series Australia visited South Africa for a long tour when they played Test, one-day international and Twenty20 series, Symonds was not with the other teammates. But, he will be appeared in the ongoing tour against Pakistan in UAE. Australia has announced the probable squad of 11 men for the 1st ODI that will be held in Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium.

Australia (probable) 1 Shaun Marsh, 2 Shane Watson, 3 Brad Haddin (wk), 4 Michael Clarke (capt), 5 Andrew Symonds, 6 David Hussey, 7 Callum Ferguson, 8 Nathan Hauritz, 9 Stuart Clark, 10 Nathan Bracken, 11 Ben Laughlin.

I think everyone will be astonished to see the squad where Ricky Ponting’s name has been wiped up. The main cause is that Australia captain Ricky Ponting along with the batsman Mike Hussey and allrounder Mitchell Johnson will not appear in the ongoing one-day series and a single twenty20 match because of security concerns. May be Brett Lee is taking parts in the ongoing most anticipated Indian Premier League in South Africa.

Pakistan vs Australia 1st ODI 2009: Pakistan Squad for Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium

Pakistan has announced probable eleven men squad for the first One-day cricket that is going to take place on 22 April 2009 in UAE. Pakistan lost the last two ODI along side Sri Lanka. Two names are seems new in the 11 man squads. Saeed Ajmal is an oldest man but debuted to international cricket is not old. Rest of the names is well known to all but Shoaib Akhtar who was ruled out from the international cricket for misbehave with the teammate and breaking the rules.

1st ODI cricket - Pakistan v Australia on Wed April 22, 2009

14:30 local, 10:30 GMT

Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium

Pakistan Squad (probable) 1 Salman Butt, 2 Nasir Jamshed, 3 Younis Khan, 4 Misbah-ul-Haq, 5 Shoaib Malik, 6 Shahid Afridi, 7 Kamran Akmal (wk), 8 Sohail Tanvir, 9 Umar Gul, 10 Shoaib Akhtar, 11 Saeed Ajmal.

Nasir Jamshed is a young player in Pakistan side. He just played 9 ODIs and his strike rate is very high of 103.62. From the nine matches he cashed 343 runs and highest scored is 74. He debuted with international cricket alongside Zimbabwe 21 January 2008 and scored 61runs and the last match was along with Bangladesh on 4 July 2008 scored 52 runs and was not-out. I am confused why he was kept out long time from the international cricket.

Pakistan vs Australia ODI 2009: Which TV Channels will Show the matches.

After a long time gap, Australia is going to play an ODI series along with Pakistan. Although Australia is visiting Pakistan but the cricket tournament will be hosted by United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) become agree to take the series in UAE. Australia did not visit Pakistan more than 10 years for security concern.

Taj TV’s Ten Sport has the official right to broadcast the One-Day International match series live form Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Sports City Cricket Stadium UAE.

Anyway, I am hopeful about Pakistan-Australia tour that they are getting help from other cricket playing counties and also congratulate PCB that they have agreed to organize the cricket match in UAE in stead of Pakistan.

Pakistan v Australia last 10 matches review and next ODI Schedule

Just after a day, the one-day schedule of Pakistan-Australia series is going to hold in UAE in stead of Pakistan. Australia played last one-day internationals at Lahore Pakistan in 1998. After ten year Australia is going to visit Pakistan to play ODI series. Australia last tour of UAE was in 1993/94 to play Pepsi Austral-Asia Cup. Austral-Pakistan played a one-day series in 2002 season when Pakistan won 2-1 which was held in Pakistan in Australia.

Pakistan played last one-day series at Sydney in Australia in 2005 when Pakistan beat to the host. Among the last 10 matches no match was hosted by Pakistan. 6 matches were arranged in Australia and two matches were held on Amstelveen, Netherlands Videocon Cup final and in the 3rd match. In Johannesburg they played ICC World Cup - 4th match, Pool A match and other was in Nairobi PSO Tri-Nation Tournament – final.

The statistics is support totally on the side of the Australia. They got 6 wins and Pakistan had to be satisfied with single victory. PSO Tri-Nation Tournament’s final came to conclusion with no result and Videocon Cup was abandoned.

At this moment Pakistan and Australia both are not in well form. Australia lost both one-day international series along side South Africa recently. In the gap of two series, they played matches with the neighboring county New Zealand. Pakistan is not also in good form they had some tour before the Sri Lanka tours.

Australia is visiting Pakistan at the same time most anticipated Indian Premier League IPL 2009 season 2 is taking place in the new host’s grounds. Pakistan player is not taking parts in the season 2 even Australian players. To fill this gap before ICC Twenty20 World Cup Championship 2009, it will be great practices sessions.
