Sri Lanka Squad for ODI series and ICC Champions Trophy 2008

Sri Lanka is one of most favorite teams in the subcontinent. They are the champion of Asia now. During the battle of Asian Cricket tournament they beat India with some magic of spinners. Ajantha Mendis was the hero of the tournament. India is in Sri Lanka now to play a three Test and Five ODIs. It is almost sure that Sri Lanka will be the winner of the Test series because the third and last test is on the favor on Sri Lanka. India is batting and securing 161 runs by losing 5 important wickets.

Sri Lankans are being inspiring to take the lead of the Test series also the next ODI series after the Test mach. The ODI series will be taken place on 18 August.

Sri Lanka is aiming to the lead in ODI series and that is why they have declared the squad. They also declared the squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2008 that will be placed in Pakistan. Although the all-rounder Farveez Maharoof and fast bowler Dilhara Fernando has been decorated their name in the announced squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2008 and ODI series alongside India but Kaushal Weeraratne will be placed in stead of Farveez Maharoof in the home ODI series along with India.

ICC Champions Trophy 2008 will be grounded on September in Pakistan. The three play ground has been selected as a venue of the second popular international nation Cricket tournament in the cricket world and that inaugurated first and the hosted country was Bangladesh. Now tenth year is running now and it was held after two years. First two tournaments it was knockout and the last three was robin rounded and this 6th tournament will be similar way. The next host country has been selected West Indies.
The first match will be held between the host country of 2008 Pakistan and the next 2010 host country West Indies at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. In the robin round match the team will be taken part by dividing two groups.
