Bangladesh needs extra safety equipment for the security of Cricket World Cup-2011

Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India will host Cricket World Cup-2011. The inaugural ceremony will be held in Bangladesh. Bangladesh will also host eight matches, six of which will be played in Dhaka and the remaining two in Chittagong.

To ensure security for the players as well as for the visitors is very important for Bangladesh. The government of the country has taken the matter so seriously. The government has decided to purchase safety equipment worth about 4.3 million U.S. dollars to ensure security during the world cup.

Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) and National Security Intelligence (NSI) has already received about 1.43 million U.S. dollars each from Finance Ministry   to buy necessary safety devices. The Rapid Action Battalion and police will also buy security equipment. Government will soon form a national security committee headed by the home minister.
