Indian Squad: Yuvraj named for Sri Lanka tour

India has announced the name of 16 players for the upcoming Test which will be taken place from 18 July in Sri Lanka. In the selected squad, Yuvraj Singh has been drowned his name which mean the committee has given another chance to show his performances. It should mention that the left-armed hard hitter batsman was dropped from the squad for is underprivileged role in last Twenty20 World and one-day internationals. It can tell easily that it is a consideration as salvation from the selector so that he would look forward.

It is an important issue why India has selected more spinners and three pacers. Condition of Sri Lanka weather would play a big role. Supporting bowlers in each sectors is important which causes to select Ishant Sharma and S. Sreesanth. At the same time Lankan condition suppose to be favorable for the spinners Amit Mishra, P.Ojha and Harbhajan Singh.

Ishant and Sreesanth, part of India's last Test squad, have gone through pretty ordinary times in limited-overs cricket since then, both in the IPL and while playing for India. More so because none of the alternatives tried in their absence have impressed enough. And Ashish Nehra is not willing to play Tests, while Praveen Kumar is strictly a limited-overs bowler.

Seniors have got extra priority to junior that is why Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman have been included in the squad instead of Dinesh Karthik and Bardrinath.

India will play a three days match against Colombo Jul 13-15. After a two days break, first Test will be started from 18 to 22 July at Galle. Rest of two Test will be played from 26 to 30 July and 3 to 7 August as well as SSC Ground and PSS Cricket Ground in Colombo.
