Sachin Tendulkar 44th century after six months against Sri Lanka

Sachin Tendulkar has added another century on his personal achieves with century in Compaq Cup 2009 final against Sri Lanka on 14 September 2009 in his 20 years cricket career. During the 428th one-day international mach, he could earn his 44th century. To score 138 runs Sachin Tendulkar has to spend 214 balls.

Earlier the year 2009, when India visited Sri Lanka to take for unscheduled one-day international tour Sachin Tendulkar performed very bad and could not score double figure in the three matches. In 2008 he has just played 12 ODIs whenever he played more that thirty matches in 2007 and nine matches in last nine months out of 17 matches throughout the year. In the last tour of West Indies he was kept in rest totally out from the team.

He gets opportunity to play in the Compaq Cup triangular series due to the injury of regular opener Gautam Gambhir as well as groin injury. Similarly, Virender Sehwag was out of team from twenty20 world championship this year.

Next week India will visit South Africa to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. Tendulkar’s century makes him important for the team. The last three matches his average runs are 70. It can say confidently that he will be the hero of winner if India win over Sri Lanka.
