The 8th Stage of Hockey Asia Cup is taking place in Malaysia. The few days a tournament is going to an eng on 16 May 2009. Eight teams were the participants for this season but Sri Lanka withdrew their name from this tournament. As a result, seven teams were taken part. In Pool A, Korea, Japan, Bangladesh and the host Malaysia were in the table whereas Korea and Malaysia will move to the semi-final that will be held on 14 May 2009. In the Pool B, three names were drew the table Pakistan, India and china and Pakistan and China will face each other in the 2nd semifinals.
Although Cricket is the most popular games in South Asia, it is out of thought that they have no interest in Hockey. I am shocked that no TV channels are telecasting the one of the important stage Hockey Asia Cup 2009 in South Asia. Is it only shortage of advertisement? I do not think so. As per I remember that in hockey India has a fame in world stage.
There are three matches of Hockey Asia Cup 2009. Korea Vs China, Malaysia Vs Pakistan will play for the qualification of the final that will be staged on 16 May, 2009. Japan is in the 7th position because they have no opposition to fight. But another match will kick off between India and Bangladesh for the 5th and 6th position.
