Sprint Nextel reveals LG LX 600 /LG Lotus

On September 10, 2008, Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) revealed its fall season product line up in the ongoing CTIA Fall show. The line up includes LG Lotus or LG LX 600, a messaging phone. The most interesting feature of this cell-phone set is its design. The pictures will give you a feel that it is a square chubby phone but it is the opposite in reality. For this unique design, LG Lotus even received Red Dot design award. Other major Sprint Nextel products are: HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch Pro, Samsung Highnote, Samsung Rant, and

Motorola i576. LG Lotus, Samsung Highnote and Samsung Rant are the three products to sport Sprint Nextel’s “One Click” user interface.

Partnership with ‘Project Runway’ winner Christian Siriano:

On the same day, LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A, Inc. also revealed its partnership with the winner of Bravo Network’s award winning fashion reality show, Project Runway, Christian Siriano. Christian Siriano is the winner of Project Runway 4^th season and he has designed exclusive scurf for LG LX 600/LG Lotus. The scurf has been unveiled today at the New York City Fashion Week. Ehtisham Rabbani, Vice President, Product Strategy and Marketing for LG Mobile Phones, said:

After winning Project Runway, this is the first fashion show of Christian Siriano. The attendees of the show will use the LG LX 600 /LG Lotus to take photos of the collection. They will be able to send the photos via message which will appear on large LG screens above the runway.

About the scurf, Siriano said that it is a fabulous scurf with a little pocket to carry a phone. The pocket is designed according to the square of shape of LG LX 600 / LG Lotus. Following the show, the scurf will be displayed along with Siriano’s fall 2008 collection in various events.

World Cup 2010 Qualifying: Australia Won against Uzbekistan

The final score was Australia 1- Uzbekistan 0. Australia defeated Uzbekistan last night in Tashkent in a world cup Asian group A qualifying match. It was a very hard-fought match, but good win for Australia. Uzbekistan played very good too and it was not a one-sided match. I was impressed with the performance of Australia in Uzbekistan. The match as played at night, but the stadium was almost full with 35,000 spectators coming to support the home team. They were shouting all the time whenever Uzbekistan was in attack. Such environment is very difficult place to play and Australian players could handle the pressure very well.

It took Australia 26 minutes in the match to get a goal. Scot Cheperfield scored the goal from a cross. In the second half, Uzbekistan played very well and attacked a lot, but could not get any goal. In fact, Uzbekistan tried to score a goal 12 times, but they could not get one. On the other hand, Australia got a easy chance just after the second half started, but could not capitalize it. This win will surely help Australia a lot. It is still very early days in group A of Asian region. However, Australia now has won both of the matches and Australia will play against Qatar at home next month. On the other hand, Uzbekistan has lost both of their matches and thus are in pressure.

Will LG start its solar energy business by acquiring Conergy?

In order to start its solar energy business, South Korea’s second largest electronics producer, LG Electronics Inc. (SEO:066570) is planning to buy up the solar cell unit of Conergy AG (FRA:CGY), the second largest solar company of Germany.

LG Electronics spokeswoman told Reuters that the company is planning to start its solar energy business and it is studying the market and considering various options but it does not have any acquisition plan.

LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (SEO: 005930) are two of the biggest electronics producers of South Korea and both the companies gave up external take over in favor of “organic growth.” LG’s last took over Zenith, a US-based electronics company, in 1995.

LG revealed its interest to enter into the solar energy industry in May 2008. LG CEO said that his company was reviewing various options. On September 4, 2008, The Maeil Business Newspaper said that the buy up of the Conergy solar unit was “imminent.” The take over will cost LG $183.3 million.

'Ru-Ba-Ru' Stars Talk About the Movie

'Ru-Ba-Ru' is the upcoming Bollywood flick slated for release on 12 September 2008. The movie casts Randeep Hooda, Shahana Goswami, Rati Agnihotri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Jayant Kriplani. 'Ru-Ba-Ru' is the directorial debut for Arjun Bali. The romantic thriller portrays the love relationship between an ambitious advertising agency owner and a theatre actress. It is about their love through which they reach their destination.

About the movie, actress Shahana Goswami, who plays the female lead role in the movie, said that that it is about the live-in relationship of a couple. Randeep Hooda said that he plays the male lead role opposite Shahana Goswami. Satyadev Barman and Samirrudin composed the songs with lyrics by Shuja Haider, Soumik Sen, Aditya Narayan, Arjun Chandramohan Bali and Akshay Verma.

A number of singers including Shuja Haider, Ranjit Barot, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala, Vijay Prakash, Suzanne D' Mello and Shreya Ghosal sang the songs of the movie.

Reports out in the media suggest Randeep Hooda and Sahana Goswami starrer, Ru Ba Ru, is inspired by Hollywood film If Only, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Paul Nicholls. Recently the promos of the movie was released and it is pretty clear that Ru Ba Ru is inspired by 2004 Hollywood film If Only, directed by Gil Junger. The story of the movie Ru Ba Ru has striking similarities with the story of If Only.

When asked if Ru Ba Ru was inspired by If Only, Randeep did not give a direct answer like Yes or No. According to Hooda, there is nothing like an original thought and every film is inspired by another film. However, he asked all to wait until the release of the movie before taking anything for granted.

Ranbeep says his performance in the movie is intense, but the intensity of the movie is expressed through romance, not through action scenes like he did in his previous action thrillers like ‘D’ and ‘Risk’. Hooda believes that romance can be intense too. Randeep Hooda plays the role of an ambitious owner of an advertising agency who has love interest with a theater actress, played by Sahana Goswami.

Ru Ba Ru: Randeep Hooda Got Injured while Saving Sahana Goswami

After action thrillers ‘D’ and ‘Risk’, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is set to give a shot at romantic flick, Ru Ba Ru, where he is seen playing an advertising executive. The interesting thing is that he got never injured for doing action stunts in his previous action films, but he needed 15 stitches on his palm after being injured while filming an action stunt in which he had to save his on-screen love bird Sahana Goswami.

Regarding the incident, Dale Bhagwagar, publicist of Randeep Hooda, said that Randeep’s brand new Hugo Boss shoe slipped while doing the stunt and eventually he got injured.

“Randeep had specially bought an attractive pair of Hugo Boss shoes for the shooting of ‘Ru-Ba-Ru’. But since they were brand new, he slipped,” reasoned his publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Ru Ba Ru is the directorial debut of director Arjun Baali. The movie is slated for release on 12 September. The story revolves around the love relationship between a theater actress and an owner of an advertising agency.
