England has declared their squad for the first test alongside South Africa that will be held on 10 July 2008 at Lords, Andrew Flintoff is not in there because of his ankle injury. This is long times all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is out of international cricket tournament. Selection committee has decided to keep out him because Test match is a long time games. He could back to the squad form the second Test or ODI squad. After a few hours Lord’s will be full of thousand of Cricket fans to watch England vs. South Africa fist Test match. It is a big pressure for host, other hand; South Africa is in confidence to play a excellent cricket during the tour.
"There's always pressure on you in international sport, you've got to be able to live with that," England's captain, Michael Vaughan, said yesterday. "Andrew Flintoff is an exceptional circumstance, in that we want him back in the England team. We'll have to decide how to get him back in the team once he's become available and got enough cricket behind him."
South Africa will want to take advantage of Flintoff's absence by scoring more quickly, in order to give their pace attack of Dale Steyn, Makhaya Ntini and Morne Morkel as long as possible to work their mischief. Yet it is a tactic that could play into England's hands if the ball moves around on a pitch that has been under covers for 36 hours.
It is clear that South Africa will the opportunity of the all-rounders absence. South Africa has some destructive bowlers like Dale Steyn, Makhaya Ntini and Morne Morkel. South Africa also kept PL Harris and an attacking spinner. The Squads that has been declared for first Test is;

India tour of Sri Lanka with Sachin, Singh and Luxman

India Tour of Sri Lanka to play a Test and ODI series in this dam season. To beat Sri Lanka, India is making their team strong by including some experienced players in the declared team where banned Harbhajan Singh, injured Sachin Tendukar and cool man Rahul Dravid and VVS Luxman. All the selection committee members thought to declare the team with the news and young players. But the equation has been changed totally after the Asia Cup Cricket.
The clamour for the expected retention of seniors Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and V V S Laxman in the Test squad led by Anil Kumble has gone up after the one-day team's failure to clinch both the tri-series in Bangladesh and the Asia Cup in Pakistan that ended yesterday.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his younger lot of players did not show the needed will and strength of character in the most crucial ties of both the tournaments, the finals, and lost to Pakistan and Sri Lanka respectively.
Now the team is looking better by adding the experienced players although bangla’s talents Sourav Ganguly is not in the Indian team of Sri Lanka tour. It is difficult to say what the India team will do? But it is clear that they will try to dominate the strong Sri Lanka team with a mixed team members and the team will be leaded by Anil Kumble.

ACC awarded Cricket Legends

Some of Asian Cricketers are awarded for their contribution in different sectors both ODIs and Tests, even two former crickets awarded "legendary cricketers" of Asia. This is the inaugural Asian cricket Council (ACC) awards.
Three Sri Lankans walked away with top awards with wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara receiving the best Asian Test batsman award while country-mates Muttiah Muralitharan and Farveez Maharoof named the best Asian Test and ODI bowlers respectively.
Former India and Pakistan captains Sunil Gavaskar and Imran Khan were also honoured with special awards named "legendary cricketers" of both countries.
The ACC also gave away a special award of "best administrator" to Colonel (retd) Nur Khan, former President of the Pakistan Cricket Board, who played a significant role in forming the ACC.
I think it is a very good initiative to inspire crackers and to appraise their contributing in their related fields.
