Preview, Highlights, 3rd Test 2009, South Africa vs Australia at Cape Town

Australia has confirmed the series victory along side the host South Africa and leading the series 2-0. The 3rd test’s third day already has over and the guests are on batting for second innings and have lost two wickets at the end of the third day and added 102 runs with the first innings’  209 runs.

 

By winning tolls Australia chose to bat first and just playing 71.0 overs, South Africa packed them in 205 runs. At end of the first day South Africa played 14.0 overs and scored 57 without lost. At end of the second day South Africa cashed 404 runs just lost 3 wickets from 102.0 overs. Before lunch of the 3rd day the hosts’ total earning was 508 runs from 6wickets when AB de Villiers scored 90 and JA Morkel 27. After lunch they added 143 and had to sack the first innings.

 

Later Australia came to the ground to face SA bowlers for second innings. They just played 36.0 overs but lost two valuable wickets. M Katich 44 and MEK Hussey 13 are still unbeaten and will come to bat in the morning of the 4th day.

 

Australia had to face in huge pressure in the first innings and no batmen cross 50 runs except SM Katich who scored 55. Captain Rickey Ponting had to back in pavilion without add any single runs in her personal career and in the second innings he just added 12 runs.

From the host side’s three batsmen searched hundreds for their personal career even Captain JH Kallis scored 102 runs. AG Prince and AB de Villiers secured hundreds each and run were 150 and 163.
