Fifth Padma Shri Award for Bachchan family

Father-in-law of Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan is proud of Aishwarya to be rewarded prestigious award of India by Padma shri. He is delighted because this is the fifth distinguish award for his family. Amitabh Bachchan’s father Harivansh Rai Bachchan got the Padmabhushan award to contribute in Hindi literature, Amitabh Bachchan himself got the Padma Shri and Padmabhushan award and her wife Jaya Bachchan honoured with the Padma Shri in 1992. In 2009, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, as a fifth person honored Padma Shri from Bachchan family. 

Without this film like Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, Devdas,Tall,Guru Aishwarya performed Chokher Bali,Raincoat and Jodhaa Akbar.Now Aishwarya is busy Mani Ratnam’s Ravana with Abhishek Bachchan. Their next film is Rajiv Menon’s Sur. After marriage Aishwarya wanted to act with husband Abhishek Bachchan.

When she reached Mumbai airport on Monday morning, more flowers awaited to greet her and this one was from her father-in-law Amitabh. "This one was from Pa," revealed the pleased actress, "He wrote that this was the fifth Padma Shri in the family. Dadaji (Harivansh Rai Bachchan) got it first, Pa got it twice, then Ma (Jaya Bachchan) and now me ... the award is very special to the family and I'm humbled to receive such high honour from the country."

 

After getting the Tile of the most beautiful woman in the world Abhishek Bachchan use to call her ‘Number Nine. Similarly, as 'Padma Shrimati' Abhishek named to Aishwarya after declaring her name for ‘Padma Shri’ the India's fourth highest civilian award of Indian Government.
