England Tour of West Indies under Andrew Strauss’ leadership

Andrew Strauss is new captain of England team after Kevin Petersen. As a new captain at first Andrew Strauss leads the forthcoming coming West Indies tour. England team will play against West Indies a four test series, five one day international match and only a twenty20 international match.        

ECB managing director Hugh Morris said, "Andrew Strauss has agreed to lead the team to the Caribbean. He led the England team with distinction in 2006 when Michael Vaughan was injured." Andrew Strauss is a 31 years Middlesex batsman.             

England team will arrive on 21st January in West Indies. First test match will be played on 4-8 February in Jamaica. 2nd test will be Antigua till 13-17 of February, 3rd and 4th test will be 26 February to 2nd March at Barbados and 6-10 march at Trinidad. Before one day series they will play a Twenty20 match on 15 February at Trinidad. First and 2nd ODI will be Guyana ground on 20 March and 22 March 27 and 29 march will be 3rd and 4th match at Barbadose. The tour will be finished with the last one day match on 3 April 2009 at St Lucia

Andrew Strauss said,”The players are excited about going to West Indies, which is a great tour. No-one likes reading these things in the press and a tour is a great way to bring people closer together." 

There was news in media the Kevin Petersen was forced to step down from the captaincy. Now it is time to see how the success comes with the new captain.
