UEFA Euro is one of the biggest football events in to the Europeans. It inaugurates after four years. This year the UEFA Euro is hosted by two countries Austria and Switzerland. On 7 June 2008 at 17:00 local time in St. Jakob Stadium, Basel, Switzerland. The opening ceremony will be attractive and colorful because of its popularity.

Football is the heart of European and if it becomes UEFA Euro then there is no doubt. Euro is a prestigious event to the Europeans. Now all Europe is in Euro 2008 fever. I have quoted some opinions below;

"I'm not a football fan though I am very glad and a bit proud that the tournament is happening here," said 45-year-old Angelino Bernardo, a 4-star hotel employee.

"It is an advantage on the part of my hotel employer since they are going to house here a number of guests from all over Europe. Para sa akin ay dagdag na trabaho and actually bawal sa aming mga workers ang magbakasyon magmula sa June7 hanggang matapos ang event," Bernardo added. (It is an additional work for me and actually we are not allowed to go on vacation starting June 7 until the end of the soccer cup.)

"The Europe Soccer Cup 2008 is an opportunity for Austria to showcase not only its enthusiasm for sport but also its image as a country of art and culture," said overseas Filipino worker Romeo Morales.

"The latest horrible event in Amstetten, where Josef Fritzl took his daughter into captivity for 24 years, has put Austria in the bad limelight. The European Soccer Cup is an important event for Austria and this is a good opportunity to prove that the country has other wonderful things to offer," said another OFW, Felipe Reyes.

"Football unites": that is the slogan the Austrian Football Association, the Austrian Bundesliga authorities and the "2008- Austria on the ball" initiative have chosen for UEFA EURO 2008TM, and it is their hope that the beautiful game will build bridges between people and cultures, across all borders.

So, it is clear that not only the opening ceremony but also whole the Euro 2008 champion will be more exciting too.
