WebIndia reported: Announcing the prize, Chairman and League Commissioner Lalit Modi said in a release that the runner up will be richer by Rs 2.4 crore while the two losing semi-finalists will each earn Rs 1.2 crore. The total prize money will be further divided amongst other teams, with the team finishing fifth collecting Rs 80 lakh, while the sixth finisher will earn Rs 70 lakh. The team finishing seventh on the league table will get Rs 50 lakh while the eighth finisher will earn Rs 40 lakh.
After declaring the prize money BCCI is feeling proud and telling that it is the highest prize money in the domestic cricket among the countries in the world. I think here nothing to say proudly because BCCI has taken a huge amount of money from the franchises.
