Pakistan vs South Africa 2nd Test: South Africa wants to win the Series

The second test of South Africa and Pakistan is going to take place on Monday, October 08, 2007 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. We all know that Pakistan has been beaten first test. So South Africa has taken the lead the series. Now Pakistan is in pressure and worried about the 2nd test. South African Captain Graham Smith already had declared that they want to win the first test series in subcontinent. But I think Pakistan will not give the opportunity. They seriously try heart and soul to win the 2nd test and drawn the match.

"We have given ourselves a great chance of winning a series in the subcontinent and it's something we are hungry to achieve," Smith said Sunday.

South Africa recorded a 160-run victory in the first Test at Karachi with Jacques Kallis (155 and 100 not out) scoring centuries in each innings.

"We have come here to win Test matches and victory in the first Test is a fantastic confidence booster for us," Smith said.

The three pillars of the subcontinent - India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka - have denied South Africa series victories since 2000. However, Smith led South Africa to 2-0 victory in 2003 Test series against Bangladesh soon after he was appointed captain after the World Cup in 2003.

"It has taken three years to build up a team from where you can challenge other teams in the world and it's very encouraging," Smith said.

It is clear to his dialogue that he seriously hopes to win the series. We could think so because Pakistan did not do well in the first test. I think most of the batsmen’s failure has grew the hope of victory.
