All About NKP Salve Challenger Trophy

The Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI introduced the Challenger series in1994-95 for on condition to chance the young players to evaluate the talent. The Challenger Trophy named the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy from 1998-99. Till it’s starting time the tournament was not played in 2002-03 only.

The annual tournaments played between three sides made up 36 of the best players in India. The three teams were India Senior and India A & India B. Team names were changed for the 2006 version of this tournament. India Seniors became India Blue and India A and India B became India Red and India Green, respectively. India Senior have won 7 times including the 2005-06 edition.

NKP Salve Challenger Trophy always held as a day-nigh match. The match of 2007 will be started from 25 October.

The top big three cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid will not take part in the upcoming NKP Salve Challenger Trophy. The players have divided in three parts like, Red, Green and Blue. Each teams will play each others and then final.
