Tahj Mowry: The young face of Hollywood



Tahj Dayton Mowry is a talented American actor and singer. He was born on May 17, 1986 at Honolulu, Hawai. His mother, Darlene Flowers is an African American and his father, is an Italian American. Tahj Mowry has twin sisters, Tia and Tamera Mowry and an older brother Tavior Mowry. Tahj’s family used to live in Texas from which they moved to his current home, Los Angeles. Tahj Mowry became a star after his performance in hit WB comedy series, Smart Guy.

Tahj and his twin sisters are also in show business and their mother is their manager. Tahj Mowry’s parents met in high school. They got enlisted in the military.


Tahj was exposed to show business at a very early age. He used to go to the set with her mother and sisters when they were working for the hit comedy series, Sister Sister. Tahj begin his career at the age of four, working in commercials. His natural acting talent made him very popular among movie makers. Tahj first made a guest appearance in Who’s the Boss. This was followed by his four season appearance as ‘Teddy,’ friend of the ‘Olson Twins,’ in popular sitcom, Full House. Since then, Tahj Mowry made numerous guest appearances in various TV series including Friends, Sister Sister.


Aside from acting, Tahj also gave voice for animated feature films. He gave voice for hit Disney Animated movies like Aladdin, The Lion King. At present, he is regularly working on Disney cartoon series, Kim Possible. His other major Disney projects include: Hounded, The Poof Point, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He also worked as a guest star in Desperate Housewives, The Game.


Tahj also worked in movies. In Seventeen Again, he appeared with his sisters. He also worked with Ice Cube in Are We Done Yet?, sequel of hit comedy movie, Are We There Yet?


Aside from acting, Tahj Mowry is also a talented singer and dancer. He performed at Academy Awards ceremony. The dance sequence was choreographed by Debbie Allen. Tahj danced with famous choreographer Wade Robson. Tahj appeared in music videos with several famous singers including Michael Jackson, Prince, Mariah Carey.


Tahj Mowry also worked in theatres. He played the central role in the Black version of Oliver Twist. The musical was staged at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. After every show, he received a standing ovation for his performance.


In 2003, he went on a football scholarship at Savannah state University followed by the Wyoming University. Currently, he is a part time Advertising major at Pepperdine University in Malibu. He is also working recording his album.
