Injury to dominate Arsenal play-off match against Celtic of CL 09-10

There are two big challenges for the Gunner side. Fist one is the return leg Champions League match against Celtic FC and the premier league match with man utd. Arsenal’s starting performances is impressive. Gunner’s captain Cesc Fabregas may miss the play-off match in the home ground. But he could return in the league match on 29 August to take on Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Spain midfielder, who excelled in the 2-0 first-leg win at Celtic Park on August 18, suffered a hamstring injury in the Premier League game with Portsmouth on Saturday.

Fabregas could also miss the Premier League clash with champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, though Wenger remained optimistic he could play a part.

 

Injury hits arsenal side more and they have to take on the home match second leg match when more than 6 players will be out for serious injury. Although it hopes that skipper Cesc Fabregas back to the team is just time matter.

EPL giant Arsenal still could not become the title holder of the champions’ league but achieved the runner-up title one time. But Celtic could reach in the UEFA Cup final one time but defeated to FC Proto.

The Gunners have injury doubts over Bacary Sagna, Cesc Fabregas and Denilson, with captain Fabregas given only a 50-50 chance of playing.

Sagna took a knock in Saturday's 6-1 win over Everton while Denilson (groin) and Fabregas (hamstring) will also be assessed before the game, although midfielder Abou Diaby has recovered from a groin injury.

On the Celtic side Barry Robson and Stephen McManus will be kept out for injury and Glenn Loovens and Shaun Maloney is doubtful to attend in the match.
