ICC World Twenty20 Super Eight 2009 possible matches

Two matches already have been left but he point table is very stable it could keep unchanged after the tomorrow’s tournaments. From Group A, India-Ireland where India is more favorite than Ireland although England lost to Netherlands. Secondly, the encounter between Sir Lanka-West Indies from Group C and it is not impossible that Sri Lanka will be the group leader. The point table can change if Indian and West Indies lost to the opposition teams.

I have found a Schedule in Cricinfo website where they post the Super Eight fixtures despite two matches left (may be model schedule). My question will it be changed later? May be yes! If India defeat to Ireland then as a group runner-up they will not have to take on Group-B runner up Pakistan instead Group champion England.

Secondly, if Sri Lanka could be the champion then it will in the Group E where they have to take on strong India and Pakistan and New Zealand.

I personally will be very happy if India and Pakistan comes to the same group in the super eight tournaments and there would be possibility to see them in the final like 2007 World Twenty20 in South Africa

Super Eight (super-8, T20) Twenty20 World Cup: what are the key points of Sri Lanka Team?

Super Eight (super-8, T20) Twenty20 World Cup: what are the key points of Sri Lanka Team?

Sri Lanka is the best team among the teams who are plying in Twenty (T20) World Cup 2007. After overcoming the qualified stage with full points, now Sri Lanka is going to play the super- 8 match with another strong team Pakistan. The match will take place at 17 Sep 2007 in New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.

In the first match, Sri Lanka did the highest score of 260 runs by 6 wickets. Sri Lanka’s key player Sanath Jayasuriya did 88 runs with 11 fours but no sixes. On the other had the captain M Jayawardene 65, K Sangakkara 30 (18, 4x5, 6x0) and the lower order batsman J Mubarak did very good score of 46 with 5 sixes and 3 fours. So these kinds of strong batting line could do any devastate in cricket history. Mentionable, that 260 runs was a record of Twenty20 (T20) history.

In the second match, Sri Lanka won the match by 7 wickets. On that day ST Jayasuriya did 61runs and M Jayawardene did 35 run (not out). Sri Lanka reached their target by 18.5 overs.

On the other hand New Zealand did not make a strong score for Sri Lanka’s strong bowling.

Other key point is the bowling line-up. Chaminda, Dilhara Fernando, Sanath Jayasuriya, L Malinga, andT Dilshan are in very good form and the fielding side of Sri Lanka is always better.

If you observe with as strong view it is clear that only Sri Lanka is a strong team of Twenty20 (T20) world cup. What do you think?

Super Eight (super-8, T20) India vs New Zealand: What are the key points of New Zealand

Super Eight (super-8, T20) India vs New Zealand: What are the key points of New Zealand

In the first round of New Zealand had to play one top level county Sri Lanka and almost good Kenya. With the both teams they played very well if they lost one.

MeriNews reported:

The plight of the Kenyan batsmen can be gauged from the fact that their top four batsmen returned to the comfort of the pavilion without troubling the scorers. One for the loss of four wickets was the score when Collins Obuya and Thomas Odoyo joined forces to do some damage control. The two scored 18 each before falling to irresponsible shots at crucial junctures. The middle-lower order lived up to its reputation of being called ‘spineless’. The Kenyan innings could last just 16.5 overs! Only six boundaries were hit and R L Budhia struck the solitary six of the innings.

Credit, however, should be given to the Kiwis for the most disciplined bowling performance in the series so far. Bond was fast and accurate, while Gillespie used the seam of the ball to good effect. Gillespie was later given the Man of the Match award for his bowling figures of 4 for 7 in 2.5 overs while Bond's figures of 2 for 12 were the best for a completed spell in a Twenty20 game. Chris Martin and Daniel Vettori kept up the pressure to share two wickets each.

So, it had possible only for there strong bowling line. Shane Von is a dependable bowler of Zealand.

Super Eight (super-8, T20) India vs New Zealand: Indian Team is confidence

Super Eight (super-8, T20) India vs New Zealand: Indian Team is confidence

After crossing a long or short history Indian has qualified for the Super Eight (super-8) of Twenty20 (T20) World cup Championship. On 16 September the first match of Eight (super-8) will be started. After beating Pakistan they are confidence that India will do better. Inddia is going to face New Zealand.

Why India is confidence that is clear on the reports of SkySports Shanthakumaran Sreesanth held his nerve to save the day for India, though, Misbah (53) being run out off the final ball trying to sneak the match-winning single.

The dramatic finish was a fitting finale to a see-saw Twenty20 battle that wasn't even dampened by three breaks for rain.

India had found it hard going after being put into bat by Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Asif demolishing their top order with an impressive spell that saw him take 4-18.

It was left to Robin Uthappa, who made 50 off 39 balls, and skipper Dhoni (33) to rebuild the innings with a 46-run partnership.

Super Eight (super-8) Sri Lanka vs Pakistan: Twenty20 (T20) World cup Championship

Sri Lanka is the best team of Twenty20 (T20) World cup Championship 2007 although Muthaia Muralidharan is not on the team. Sri Lanka has a very good batting and bowling order. I think Sri Lanka will win the Twenty20 (T20) World cup Championship 2007 Trophy.

If you observe their team performances you easily comprehend that how strong they are! In their first match they did a record quantity of runs. They have broken all the records. Probably you will say that their record was against a weak team. I think it is not fair because Kenya beaten may top level teams in international match.

When I was writing the article then Sri Lanka was playing the second match along with New Zealand. After winning toss New Zealand elected bat first and Sri Lanka close their match in runs. So, they were playing with a strong team there.

Anyway, the total performances are well. So it will be hard to beat Sri Lanka.

Super Eight and India Pakistan Match: T20 World Cup Championship

India and Pakistan both is qualified for the Super Eight. The match between India and Pakistan is always encouragement for both the fans. It has become a tradition that India will beat Pakistan in World Cricket Championship. In spite of being very good batting and bowling line Pakistan lost the match along with India at first round of T20 world cup championship.

India vs Pakistan Twenty20 Final: Schedule, Live Score, Live Telecast commentary and team details

India vs Australia ODI Series: Match Schedule and Time Table from 29 September

In the first qualified round India vs Scotland match has stopped dew to rain. So they had to distribute the points equal. The next match was India versus Pakistan. In that match Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first despite of t the pitch reporters repots. As a result Pakistan had to pay for their off beam decision and beat by India.

In the beginning of the match it seemed that Pakistan took was right and they reduced four wickets at 37 runs, as a result Indian did not go over 142 runs despite of Indian’s strong batting line up.

In the second half when Pakistan came to batting then it proved. According to the pitch reporter the wicket came to the favor for the bowlers and Pakistan had to fall pressure to fill-up the target of 142 runs.

Some new agency published news that Pakistan want to remove their previous tradition. But luck did not favor them and they had to stop the match of 142 runs as a tie. As, the T20 is a new formatted word cup, they had to break the tie. As a Pakistan lost the match and India holds their tradition.

Both the teams have achieved their qualifications for the super eight. Although they will not face each other at the super eight but if they do well then they again would have to face the semi-final or final.

Super Eight of Twenty20 World Cup Championship

After many new drama now eight teams has been confirmed who will play in the super eight of the T20 World Cup Championship. The teams are from Group-A Bangladesh and South Africa, Group-B Australia and England, Group-C Sri Lanka and New Zealand Group-D India and Pakistan. Only two matches remain. After 15 September 2007 it will be clear that in which teams will be the winner and runner up of Group-A and Group-C.

The first day of the Super eight matches of T20 championship will be started from 16 September. On 16 September 3 matcher will be played two matches in Cape Town and one Johannesburg.

The second day of T20 world cup championship is 17 September. At that day only one match will be played at Johannesburg. The 3rd day, 18 September three matches will be played, among them two matches will be played at Johannesburg and one at Durban. On the fourth day tow matches will be played at Durban and the fifth or final day of super eight there matches will be played among them two on Cape Town and one in Durban.

In the super eight of T20 World Cup Championship every team will have to play three matches with the others teams except the own group team. After completing the matches top four teams will be selected for the semifinals according to their qualifications.

I think in the super eight the cricket lovers will see more drama too which happened at first round.

World Cup Cricket 2007: Bangladesh vs England and 143 runs

Bangladesh played its match with England in super 8 in the World Cup Cricket 2007. The teams scored only 143 runs. Form the first the batsman showed this non-responsibility. For this, they have punished. If they become passion, they would get another victory.

Daily Times reported:
England’s three-pronged pace attack responded to their captain’s call by taking wickets at regular intervals as they bowled to an accurate line and length in a game which both sides needed to win to remain in hunt for a semi-final place. Bangladesh, with opener Shahriar Nafees replacing Javed Omar from the team which pulled off a stunning 67-run upset of South Africa in Georgetown last week, lost Tamim Iqbal in the second over of the innings. The teenager failed to keep Mahmood’s short delivery down and was caught in the gully.
Iqbal made eight, and was soon followed by captain Habibul Bashar (four) to a run out off a dropped catch by Vaughan to leave Bangladesh at 23-2. Nafees miscued drive off Mahmood was dropped by Vaughan at mid-wicket, but the England skipper threw the ball to the striker’s end where Bashar, who stopped in the middle before running, was left stranded. Nafees failed to capitalise on the chance, and another miscued drive off Mahmood rebounded off wicket-keeper Paul Nixon’s gloves to second slip where Andrew Strauss snapped up a sharp catch. Nafees made nine.

I think, at the last position of the England’s Innings Bangladesh would realized their faults of non-responsibilities batting.
