IPL 2009: 2nd match result and highlights, Anil Kumble takes 5 wickets

The second match of Indian Premier League season 2 was between Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore Royal challengers was held in the same ground where the 1st match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indian was commenced on, at Newlands Cape Town. MI has won the match and felt in heavy competition. In the 2nd match Bangalore Royals Challenger won the toll and elected bat first.

From the first time Bangalore Royals Challenger felt huge batting downfall lost two wickets in the first over. It lost JD Ryder, RV Uthappa and LRPL Taylor, the three premier wickets just adding 17 runs. This sequence was continued after short breaks.

Mascarenhas picked up 3 wickets for 20 runs Shane Wane and MM Patel took 2 wickets each.

Rajasthan Royals repeated the same things as Bangalore Royal challengers did during the batting time. It lost earlier three wickets just for 14 runs and BRC packed them in 58 runs. Three batsmen scored same and highest runs and that was 11 runs. It is really unbelievable that the champions had to be booked in 58 runs.

Anil Kumble figured the best bowling and picket up 5 wickets in an innings just for 5 runs and P Kumar and JD Ryder picket 2 wickets each.

It is clear the Anil Kumble will be the star of the tournament and Man of the match. Anil Kumble is the second man who secured 6 wickets in an innings. In the last year Sohail Tanvir picked up 6 wickets for 14 runs. Now Kumble holds the best bowling record.

4 players have achieved the maximum six awards. And Man of the Match goes to Rahul Dravid for outstanding job in this innings because he holds the teams searing during the bad time of the team and scored 66 runs.

Why Royal Challenger Bangalore is showing poor performances in IPLT20?

The days are coming hard for the Royal Challenger Bangalore. It still does not add more than 2 points in the basket. It is not honorable for Indian Test skipper Rahul Dravid. Royal Challenger Bangalore just won one match against Mumbai Indians, the fifth match of DLF IPLT20 tournament. So what is the main cause of the defeat of the team?

I think there is no hard hitter a batsman in the team. Most of them are middle orders batsmen. Even I do not see any notable blowers in the team. Only Jacques Kallis is the top all-rounder. Although Zaheer Khan is the blower of the team but he has not any eye killer performances in the T20 formatted cricket. Even he is not the regular players in Indian T20 team too.

The top order batsmen of Royal Challenger Bangalore P Kumar and W Jaffer are not regular players. Any way the middle order batsmen LRPL Taylor, JH Kallis, R Dravid and MV Boucher are looking good but in T20 formatted match it need more run in a short time. Is it possible for them?

Royal Challengers Bangalore the stable team in IPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore is going to lead by the former Indian captain Rahul Dravid. The IPL tournament is going to inaugurate with the match between Royal Challenger Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. So which team is stronger between the two teams? Now I am giving some important example of coach, batsmen, bowlers and all-rounder of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

Dr. Vijay Mallya and UB group owned team RCB is coached by the former Indian Bowlers Venkatesh Prasad and the CEO is the cricket intellectual Charu Sharma. In the IPL tournament the team is going to represent the city of Bangalore. The team owner DR. Vijay Mallya has purchased the team for US$111.6 million. It is the second highest bid.

The batting line-up looks conventional with the likes of Wasim Jaffer, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Jacques Kallis who are seasoned athletes but may not be the most proficient in the Twenty20 format. However, their experience though could give them an edge in crunch situations in the tournament. In contrast, the bowling lineup is more suited to the Twenty20 format. The likes of Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Nathan Bracken, Abdur Razzak and Dale Steyn make for a potent bowling attack. A lethal combination of bouncers, in-swingers, yorkers and leg breaks makes Bangalore Royal Challengers one of the best bowling sides in the league.

There are some icon players in the team. Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis, West Indian Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Nathan Bracken, Cameron White, Mark Boucher and Dale Steyn. I think this sequence is proving that how strong the RCB is in the opening IPL tournament!

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be taken part in the robin round league. The total tournament has divided in two parts one is robin round and other is knock-out.
