Sri Lanka vs Pakistan ODI series 2009: Pakistan Squad

Pakistan has been beat to Sri Lanka in the three matches Test Series. Perhaps, this is the first test series wins for Sri Lanka team. They beat the visitors 2-0 and taking preparation to take on gust for a one-day international series. I still did not get the information that who will be the team members for the five ODI matches but Pakistan recently had declared the Squad of 16 men where shortly returned Abdul Razzaq’s mane is twinkling. But Mohammad Asif who has been selected for the ICC Champions Trophy that will be held on September in South Africa this year which was scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2008, has been moved for the security concern.

More than and number of four players who signed with the rebel and unauthorized Indian Cricket League, have returned to the team. Among them Abdul Razzaq was permitted to play the international cricket earlier in the World Twenty20 in England. Mohammad Yousuf attended on the side of Pakistan in the recent Test Series against Sri Lanka. Other two names are Imran Nazir and Rana Naved who are going to play the international match with Sri Lanka.

To tell truth, Pakistan cricket board has selected a very stable team for the one-day international series to take on Mendis and Kumar Sangakkara men. The ODI will be started from 30 July 2009. I will give another post one the Time Schedule of the one-day international series Sri Lanka vs Pakistan.

Pakistan Squad for Sri Lanka ODI series: Younis Khan (captain), Misbah-ul Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Nasir Jamshed, Imran Nazir, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam, Abdul Razzaq, Rao Iftikhar, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Aamer, Umar Akmal and Rana Naved.

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan final 2009: World Twenty20 at Lord’s

Tillakaratne Dilshan’s responsible batting and Mathews’ three wickets in the first over and other bowlers, such as M Muralitharan and BAW Mendis aggressive bowling in the middle time of the innings supported strongly. In spite of danger man CH Gayle’s not out Sri Lanka bid the opposite side’s batsmen 14 balls left and achieved the qualification to take on runner-up Pakistan in the final match at Lord's in London. The Women World Twenty20 final will be held in the same ground before the men’s Twenty20 final. New Zealand and host England will be taken on each other. According to GMT, the men’s tournament will he held on 14:00 and the women’s final will be held at 09:30 AM GMT.

A aggressive conscientious batting and aggressive bowling over Gayle’s West Indies men, Sri Lanka able to secure an easy victory for the final match of the ICC World Twenty20, 2009 on June 21, 2009. Despite of losing middle order batsmen rapidly, Tillakaratne Dilshan’s not out 96 runs pulled Sri Lanka to scored 158 runs. As a result, Dilshan secured the player of the tournament crest.

By beating, top favorite South Africa, Pakistan qualified for the final of second season. Gathering two very simple win, it qualified for the semi-finals and proved their capabilities beating South Africa.

Pakistan has a very strong bowling line-up this could change the result any time. I want to explain strongly that only for bowling them able to beat the Smith’s men. Now, Pak men are very stable in their mental side. Despite of security reason, no cricket nation visits them in the year 2009. Even they had to keep away from the T20 formatted Indian Premier League. In spite of such barrier, Pakistan could able to show their best performances.

We all have to wait for the final match on 21 June 2009, to watch the two Asian nation’s very competitive tournament. Most important thing, Pakistan took on Sri Lanka in the qualifying round but defeated.

Watch Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI: who will win? And live score

Pakistan took the lead of the ODI series by wining the first match that was taken place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The first two matches were held at National Stadium, Karachi. After the two matches both the teams eyes are fixed to the 3rd match to break the tie. Pakistan and Sri Lanka won a single match each. So, to discernment the series result 3rd ODI is very important to all.

Sri Lanka last met along-side Pakistan during the Asia Cup in Bangladesh. After this ODI series Sri Lanka again has to tour of Pakistan to play a test series. So, the ongoing ODI series is battle field. The series result will change all the system of the teams’ management.

Pakistan took the series lead by winning the first match. Although, Sri Lanka won the toss but they failed to built a fighting score but had to close the match remaining 4.4 overs. Pakistan batsmen overcome the narrow challenge just losing 2 wicket. Khurram Manzoor and Salman Butt’s passionate and obscurantist batting brought victory easily.

The second ODI match was totally opposite to the host Pakistan. Eight batsmen could not able to build double figure. Only the first match’s man of the match Salman Butt’s 62 and captain Shoaib Malik’s 54 defended heavy defeat. As a result, Sri Lankan beat Pakistan by 129 runs.

The quote is taken from eurosport.yahoo.com: Despite this, Malik refused to entirely rule out the prospect of Shoaib being selected for the final ODI of the series. "Maybe he has a problem and that is why he wasn't running in the field," he said. "The 15-man squad is there but you can't also just have a new guy come in to such an important game."

In both innings, Pakistani peace bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Sohail Tanvir dominated seriously by the Sri Lankan batsmen. Their bowling average was over 7.00. On the other hand Sri Lankan bowlers were economical bowling figure.

May be in the next match it will be seen a notable changes in Pakistan bowling side. Shoaib Akhtar may not allow for the 3rd ODI and the opposition will not be change at all.

Satellite channel Ten Sports will telecast the match live for the cricket fans worldwide and for the local people of Pakistan Geo Sport will telecast.

Spreading communication Internet become popular the online screaming is competing most bedside satellite media. You can enjoy the match by accessing website.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka ODI 2009: Shoaib Akhtar’s fitness question?

No doubt that Shoaib Akhtar is one of the fast bowlers in cricket world. He was kept out from the international cricket for 14 months. He was available for the Indian Primer League, when PCB. Now, he is regular for the international cricket and playing along side the Sri Lanka team in the three matches ODI in the home ground. But there is question about his fitness after the second match against Sri Lanka. Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik himself explains to the board about the condition of the last two matches and asked to find out the new face for the Pakistan team.

 Reuters reported:

Malik said: "We have to move forward. There are a number of good fast bowlers around on the domestic scene and they deserve a chance. I will take this up with the selectors and team management and these things will be kept in mind."

"If you look at his performances and record and matches he has won, there is no question over his effectiveness," Malik said. "But the question is over 100% fitness. Cricket has changed and if you aren't 100% fit then it is difficult."

It is clear that the day of Shoaib Aktar has come to end. Even his IPL franchise is thinking to leave him. The notable think is that he was played in the side of Kolkata Knights Riders. What is his problem, his long run-up? As per as I remember that Pakistan most success blower Wasim Akram advice Shoaib should give concentration on technique than speed.
