Padma Awards 2010: Bollywood and Sports category

In the Padma Awards, Aaamir, Rahman Padma Bhushan and Sehwag and his Guru honored for the national prestigious award this year. For the outstanding contribution, the award was given by the Government of India in different stages Arts, Education, Industry, Literature, Science, Sports, Social Service and public life.

I am just giving a short description only on sports and Arts. On sports category, I am including a few names; in cricket Virendra Sehwag and his ‘guru’ Ramakant Achrekar both has been designated for Padma Shri awards.

Famous music director and creator, the Oscar Winner A R Rahman and most popular bollywood actor Aamir Khan hit been titled for Padma Bhushan. Saif Ali Khan is also nominated for Padma Shri. There are some NRI and foreigner who also awarded for Padma Award, are 13 in number.

Padma Shri Awards: Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai from Bollywood

Every year, Padma Shri Awards is given by government of India in different category. On 26^th 2009 January, Government of India declared the Padma Shri Awards. From the bollywood film industry Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar get this award. 

At present Aishwarya Rai is the most beautiful, glamour and valuable actress in Bollywood. Her acted hits movies are Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Taal, Dhoom-2 and Guru. Without it she acted in Hollywood films; The Last Legion, Pink Panther-2. She is also going to honor with Padma Shri Awards.   Aishwarya says, "It is an absolute honor and privilege to accept this award bestowed upon me by my country. I accept it in all humility and truly cherish it. It is special -- personally and for the whole family."  

Known as an action man in Bollywood, Aksay Kumar also titled Padma Shri Awards. Her successful was Namastey London, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiya, Welcome, Singh Is Kinng but Akshay refused it he said Aamir Khan was perfect to get this prize for acting of Ghajini. 

Says Akshay, "It is extremely wonderful and most humbling. I will cherish this as one of the most memorable moments in my life and my family's life. I really cannot express how touched I am. I am speechless for this unexpected recognition of my work, my passion and I must say that it's all because of the people -- my audiences. I am only here today because of them." 

20 honorable persons from 8 different categories have given Padma Shri Awards this year 2009. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh has been given award from cricket.
