Ganguly may not play for KKR

Sourav Gaguly, one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket, may not play for Kolkata Night Riders in the forth coming Indian Premier League. Sourav says his first choice is, of course KKR. If situation changes he is open to play for any team as he still wants to play IPL.

The current rumor is that KKR will not retain Gunguly this session. Sourav rejects and says to a media that Shah Rukh Khan is abroad and no decision has been taken.

As Ganguly is willing to play IPL he hopes to be picked up by some other team from the player auction in January if KKR do not retain him. He is currently playing Ranji Trophy cricket with Bengal. He hopes to regain necessary vigor and strength from this tournament for IPL. Sourav Gunguly has stopped playing international cricket in 2008.

Sourav Ganguly to be captain of KKR IPL-3 Coach John Wright

Former Indian national cricket team Coach John Wright has been selected the coach of Kolkata Knight riders. Beside, Sourav Ganguly has been selected the captain of the Indian Premier League’s cricket club KKR. Ganguly was opted out to lead the team in the second season of Indian Premier League in South Africa for the question of multi captain option proposed by the former coach John Buchanan. KKR washed out for the premier league in the qualified round and the responsible captain was Brendon McCullum.

Times of India wrote:

Ganguly would be back at the helm in 2010 when his contract with the Kolkata team ends and the iconic Bengal cricketer had a one-on-one with prinicipal owner Shah Rukh Khan when the duo met in London to receive doctorates by the University of Central Lancashire last week.

The new will brought a great satisfaction on the fan of KKR especially the fans of Sourav Ganguly. KKR is the team that won by bollywood superstar and most poplar actor Shahrukh Khan who recently has acquired the D-lit degree. Sourav is honored as a most successful captain of Indian ever who has said bye-bye to the international cricket at the end of the year 2008. But now he has given attention to the home cricket.

At last, Chennai Super Kings gets to realize test of third wins and has improved the position of the point table. It already has played the 7 matches of IPL second season but just could become the proud owner of three wins. For both sides batting and bowling success brought the victory over Delhi Daredevils.

They dominated the CSK’s bowlers with iron hands but could not stay at the end of the moment. In spite of dual centuries Delhi Daredevils has to bow head to the MS Dhoni.

Both the teams lost two wickets earlier and were a chance of hat-tick. When CSK bagged 144 runs it lost two wickets in a single over and had opportunity to face hat-tick. Similarly, DD had to face it when it was 20 runs. Later, David Warner’s 51 and KD Karthik;s 52 makes a hope to get the wins.

IPL 2009: Will Sourav Ganguly be the Captain of Kolkata Knight Riders?

Sourav Ganguly is one of the successful captains of India who leaded Kolkata Knight Riders in the first season in 2008. In the second season he is doubtful to lead the team in the IPL 2009, second season to lead the team that will be taken place in South Africa. After the opinions of the team coach John Buchanan who offers four captains of the team for IPL 2009 who will lead the team.

Hindustantimes wrote:

The KKR management in a statement said that “the idea is to have a set of strategists as is always the case classically in cricket… who will form a team of 4 or 5 core experts in the field of fielding, bowling, batting and data etc. These strategists will assist the one captain on field with their viewpoints on the plan set earlier or shoot from the hip as the case maybe.”

This is a new theory ever. I am not sure that how will he implement it in a match. Although there is no positive signal on behalf of the multi-captain theory but it is really an innovative idea. We have to wait what the decision comes at last. The team management announced that they will public the squad in South Africa and who will be in that squad will be clear after a few days. On April 5, Ganguly is expected to reach South Africa for the IPL 2009 who does not agree with Buchanan multi-captain theory.

Will Delhi Daredevils play the Semi-Final?

Delhi Daredevils is leading the 3rd position of the Points Table. After finishing the first round it has secured just 15 points. Now they are in high mental pressure to play semi-final. Although they are in the third position but the other three tams is still on sanding. Anything can happen anytime. Three teams are fighting for the 3rd and forth position. They are Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils.

Although Kolkata Knight Riders is in the 5th position but they lost their hope to play in the Semi-Final of IPL T20. It already has played the selected 14 matches of the first round.

Now question is the can Delhi Daredevils secure the quality to play the Simi-Final of Indian Premier League? The answer is difficult but it is possible if Mumbai Indian gets defeat two matches and other possibilities is if Chennai Super Kings gets defeat of its remain two matches.

The possibilities are not the right measurement but everything could happen in a short time. So the rest matches will be more exciting for all the teams especially who are fighting for the 3rd and 4th position of the Indian Premier League Semi-Final. It is difficult for Delhi Daredevils because it has acquired a poor Net RR that could sent them back.

Kolkata Knight Riders has kicked form the Semifinal

The 47th match of IPL T20, Delhi Daredevils v Kolkata Knight Riders, abandoned for rain. No ball has not been bowled in the field. It is one match remaining of 14 matches of the first round. The result has confirmed that Kolkata Knight Rider will not be acquired the qualification to play in the semifinal.

It was the 14th match of Kolkata Knight Riders and was so important for the team. I think they were serious about the match. May be they were determine to achieve the math and came the ground with full of strong mentality. But the rain demolished all the plan of Sourav’s solders.

The Feroz Shah Kotla of Delhi was full of hope. But the expectation has been blended with in to the dust of Kolkata Knight. Beside it the hope to play semifinal has to bury in the Delhi ground. No ball bowled in the wicket and the result was distributing the two points equally and the total point of Kolkata Knight Riders is 11 now.

Is it possible for Kolkata Knight Riders to qualify for the semifinal? May be not because Delhi Daredevils has one match who is captured 4th position and other competitor Mumbai Indians who has 3 match is still left now.

Top 5 High scores of KKR in the IPLT20

Kolkata Knight Riders is another most losing party in the Indian Premier League. It just has acquired two wins of six. It is not respectful for the team members. Kolkata Knight Riders is going to play its second match against Bangalore Royal Challengers at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In the first match KKR beat BRC in its own ground. So what the result will come in Eden Gardens?

Kolkata Knight Riders is in power after getting Shoaib Akhtar. Although it has improved the bowling side but the batting side of the team is very bad after going back some players home.

BB McCullum: BB McCullumn is the player from New Zealand but playing alongside Kolkata Knight Rides. He is the only players still now holding the highest record holders. He acquired 158 (not out) just form 73 balls by hitting 13 fours and 15 sixes. The strike rate is 204.34. He is in the third position of highest strike rates and the highest six hitter in an innings of IPLT20 too.

DJ Hussey: Hussey’s 71n runs is the second highest runs in the Kolkata Knight Riders. With a very good strike rate he obtained 71 runs from 46 balls. He is the second highest average batman of KKR team. To acquire this runs he had to hit 10 fours and 9sixes.

WP Saha: A good average and strike rate is always power the batsman acknowledgment. WP Saha is one of them in the KKR. 59 runs (not out) from 32 balls against King XI Punjab brought the third position of the team. By 8 fours and 5 sixes sits him in the 25th position of the High scores chat.

LR Shukla: LR Shukla is a talented batsman in Bangla. He has very good achievements in the home cricket series. In the IPLT20 he also did well. He scored 42 runs by hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes.

SC Ganguly: SC Ganguly is the most successful captain in past 75 years in India. He has been nominated as a captain for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. It is his first twenty20 formatted match he playing in the inaugural IPLT20 tournament. Although he is the captain of KKR but he did not show any impressive performances in the Indian formatted IPLT20 tournament. In the last 6 matches his total score is very bad.

The summary is showing that the batting side of Kolkata Knight Riders is not good enough to dominate any bowlers well in the IPLT20. It needs to improve more. In a conversion Sourav Ganguly told to a media that to improve the team performance everyone needs to play well.

Rajasthan Royals wins raise them in the second Position

After winning the toss Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne selected bat first. It was a very good decision for the players of the Rajasthan Royals. The day was very hot to field first at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The fourth successive victory of the team rises up in the second position of the Score Table. The movement of the captain of the Rajasthan Royals was really eye attracted. These movements reminded me the let Hansie Cronje who always gave tips bally after a ball. Today I saw the same activities to Shane Warne the best leg spinner in the world.

Rajasthan's preferred method has been to chase a target, but this time Warne changed the tactic, and Asnodkar, who opened the innings with Graeme Smith, got into his stride immediately. He cut, drove and slogged for his 60, playing cautiously against Ishant Sharma and Umar Gul - who eventually had him caught trying to pull - and targeting the wayward Ashok Dinda and Ajit Agarkar. He hit Agarkar for three successive fours and reached his fifty off 29 balls.

Yusuf, who also got to his fifty off 29 balls, added 53 with Asnodkar. He went after David Hussey's insipid spin and Agarkar's short-of-length deliveries and helped Rajasthan score 53 between overs 10 and 15. Yusuf got most of his runs by waiting on the back foot and hitting it powerfully to either side of the stumps. He reached his fifty with a massive six driven straight on to the roof. Ravindra Jadeja's cameo - 33 off 19 balls - helped Rajasthan to a competitive score.

The all-rounder of the Rajasthan team showed a top class performance. On the other hand the serial batting downfall cased the defeat of 45 runs. Last but not least, the absence of some top class batsmen such as Ricky Ponting and McCullum was another gap to defeat the match.

Super Kings has the last laugh

In a format created to favour batsmen and big hitting, a bowler won the match for Chennai Super Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here on Wednesday.

Young paceman Manpreet Singh Goni’s four immaculate overs at the beginning of the Mumbai Indians’ innings proved the decisive spell in a crucial Indian Premier League duel in front of a packed audience.

Bowling with control and working around the basics, Goni conceded just 18 runs in his four overs.

Super Kings won but not before surviving a scare after some hectic hitting by Abhishek Nayar (45 n.o., 20b, 6x4, 1x6) and skipper Harbhajan Singh in the end overs. A barrage of fours and sixes brought Mumbai Indians desperately close.

Joginder Sharma, once again, was alive at the death.
Second win

Defending 208, the host clinched a thriller by six runs for its second successive victory in the competition. Mumbai Indians is without a win in two games.

Mumbai Indians faltered at the start. S. Badrinath scored a direct hit from point to catch Luke Ronchi short of the crease at the non-striker’s end.

Not much later, key man Sanath Jayasuriya was unable to pick the impressive Manpreet Singh Goni’s change of pace.

Goni bowled tight from one end, but Jacob Oram suffered at the other as Robin Uthappa (43 off 36 balls) cut loose.

The batsman displayed power and finesse before swishing at a delivery from Joginder Sharma to lose his leg stump.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni shuffled his bowlers, led with a combination of instinct and foresight.

With the ability to get his deliveries to skid off the surface, Joginder can be a dicey bowler in this format and Dhoni used him to break partnerships.

A youngster like Palani Amarnath held his nerve — after being struck for a six — to castle Pollock.
Super Kings has the last laugh

Chennai Super Kings’ First match analysis

Chennai Super Kings is one of the unbeaten team of the DLF Indian Premier League, a T20 formatted League. It is going to meet it 3rd match and it is the 11th match of the DLF IPL series. The team has taken part in the two matches against Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. The team will have to fight against another unbeaten team Kolkata Knight Rider at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai at 20:00 IST, 14:30 GMT. Both the teams are full of strength to meet each others. Now, the time will explain which team will be defeated on the 26 April match.

The first match summary of Chennai Super Kings innings: It was the 2nd match of Twenty20 formatted Indian Premier League. Chennai Super Kings won the toss elected to bat first scored 240 runs. It was the record of Twentey20 DLF IPL league. Australian batsman MEK Hussey’s not out 116 was helped it to score this run. Only the Captain of the team did not get more that 2 runs.

Super Kings won but not before surviving a scare after some hectic hitting by Abhishek Nayar (45 n.o., 20b, 6x4, 1x6) and skipper Harbhajan Singh in the end overs. A barrage of fours and sixes brought Mumbai Indians desperately close.

We cannot say that the bowlers of the Chennai Super Kings bowled well. The opposite team Kings XI Punjab scored 207 runs. It was the third highest runs that time. JR Hopes and Sangakara played well. M Muralitharan the top off spinner in the world now a day was bowled better.

Chennai Super Kings v Kolkata Knight Riders: Who will win?

Chennai Super Kings v Kolkata Knight Riders: Who will win?

Chennai Super Kings is one of the team which still does not loss any match. It has already played two matches against Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. The third match it will be played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 26 at Chidambaram Stadium, in Chennai of the DLF Indian Premier League.

Kolkata Knight Riders is also another team that owns all the previous two matches and got the full score. It has beaten some of the big teams Bangalore Royal Challengers and Deccan Chargers. So the Points table is totally bowed down to the Kolkata Knight Riders. It is the top position holder of DLF Indian Premier League.

Now it is time to see what the time result will come on 26 April between the match Chennai Super Kings v Kolkata Knight Riders. Kolkata is in full strength with some high quality players Ponting, McCullum and Chris Gayle are among them. But the three are in injury they will back to home except Chris Gayle.

Sourav Ganguly's team will be the worst hit by the exodus. Ricky Ponting, McCullum and Chris Gayle, though he is yet to play due to injury, will be missing in action soon. Ponting will leave on May 1, McCullum on April 30 while the injured Gayle, even if he gets fit, will have to leave on May 15. These are big shoes to fill as Ponting is a proven commodity and McCullum became the first superstar of the IPL with a whirlwind record 158 on the opening night. They will look to the Pakistan opener Salman Butt and Zimbabwe's Tatendu Taibu to try plugging the big hole but it remains to be seen how effective they will be. Butt averages only 15.42 at a strike-rate of 81.20 in eight Twenty20 internationals and 16.62 at a strike-rate of 95 from 17 domestic Twenty20 games. Taibu averages 15.70 from 10 domestic Twenty20 matches but the runs have come at a fair clip of 122.65. Perhaps, Mohammad Hafeez will be pushed up the order. There is some good news for Kolkata, as the Pakistani seamer Umar Gul, who has joined the squad, will beef up the bowling.

Here is a complete Point Table till 24 April. After losing the third match against Rajasthan Royals Deccan Chargers confirm its tour to home. On the other hand Rajasthan Royals heroic come back driving them to the knock out league.

Although Kolkata Knight Rider is in good position because of its team member’s injury make them anxious. The players who are in injury may play on the match against Chennai Super King. The Chennai Super King is lead by Indian ODI captain MS Dhoni. There others strong team members are Matthew Hayden, Stephen Fleming, Michael Hussey who are powerfully dominating the other bowlers of the opposite team. Indian Twenty20 world Champions Trophy winner bowers Joginder Sharma is also in the team. In the last match his last over’s performance help Chennai Super King although the over was not less expensive.

The Prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly is the leader of the Kolkata Knight Riders who is the most successful Test Captains among the Indian captain ever. With DLF Indian Premier League, he is introducing with T20 matches. Now it is the question, will he be able to lead the teal well and perform well for his personal career?
