India batsmen for Tri-Nation Series tournament

India has announced the 15 member squad for the Tri-Nation series tournament that has been commencing on from 8 June 2008 in Dhaka. Beside Bangladesh, another team is the arch-rival Pakistan. After home series this is the first time India is going to face with Pakistan in the Tri-Nation Series in Bangladesh.

ICB (Indian Cricket Board) has made the huge change in its ODI squad after a long time where a good numbers of top class batsmen did not selected for ongoing Tri-Nation Series. The selector has designed the team with a lot of new players who showed good performance during the IPL T20 tournament.

Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Yousuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Pyush Chawla and Pragyan Ojha are the new players who are standing beside Mahinder Singh Dhoni (captain), Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag.

Among them Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma are well known as a good players. They all secured a good deal of runs during the IPL T20 tournament. That performance has opened the door to take parts in the Tri-Nation Series in Bangladesh. Gautam Gambhir is the only players who acquired the high runs among the Indian players.

The Pathan brothers (Yousuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan) are considered as an all-rounder. After a long time India could fill-up requirement of all-rounder with the two brothers. Similarly, the pathan brothers skills during the IPL was mind-blowing especially Yousuf Pathan. He was awarded the man of the match in the final of IPL.

Now it is time to see what India can do in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series tournament. The strong opposite of Indian team’s is Pakistan always.

The Indian squad consists of Mahinder Singh Dhoni (captain), Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Yousuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, Ishanth Sharma, Praveen Kumar, RP Singh, Pyush Chawla and Pragyan Ojha.

After spending a lot of time, I have collect this information the flowing TV channel will telecast live the India and Australia ODI Series. In the previous post I mention that if anyone knows about which channel will telecast live, except Sky Sports. One of my junior informed me that DD, NEO Sports, Fox Sports will telecast will telecast too. May be DD National will telecast the matches so that the locals could watch the matches.

After after India’s dramatic victory in the ICC Twenty-20 finals, It’s advantage Neo Sports. The exclusive cricket channel, owned by Nimbus Sport, has already booked Rs 75 crore worth of advertising accounting for 65% of its inventory for the upcoming India-Australia series, starting September 29. Tying up sponsorship deals for the rest could now be a breeze.

“After the disappointment of the World Cup, this will definitely bring back the buoyancy of the game. But, its a long season ahead, and its a larger version with 50 overs. So, it is critical for India to sustain its performance. If the initial matches don’t go in India’s favour, rates will automatically slide down,” said Shashi Sinha, president, Lodestar and regional media director, FCB Asia Pacific.

Now it is clear to all the cricket fans that they will able to see all the matches of home series of India and Australia easily.

While his captaincy stint started encouragingly with ODI victories against Pakistan and England, it soon nosedived with an embarrassing defeat against Bangladesh which led to an early exit from the 2007 World Cup. As a Test team, though, India had plenty to celebrate under Dravid, winning their first Test in South Africa and achieving two historic away series wins in the West Indies and England. Dravid stepped down from the captaincy after the 2007 England tour.
