T Dilshan, Twenty20: Most runs and highest Individual run

The second season of World Twenty20 is passing very hard. The teams that was in the top favorite, has been kicked out from this season. Pakistan, who did not play any single tournament this year except the match along with Australia in Dubai, will play the final second time. No doubt that is tough to calculate that which teams are favorite in this super-limited over match. But, Lankan batsman T Dilshan’s performances explained that he could present something different in this season.

Yes, he is the most runs achiever and highest individuals till semi-finals. Just before the semi-final along with West Indies, he overtakes G Gambhir and achieves the title of most run taker. From 11 matches an able to score 382 run. To reach here he had to store 3 half-centuries and hits 48 boundaries and 7 sixes.

In the same match he touches another record of highest individual runs of the year 2009 world tournament. T Dilshan scored 96 runs (not out) from 57 balls during the semi-final against West Indies in 2009. CH Gayle holds the highest individuals record holders and only century from his bat in 2007 world Twenty20 and this year he scored 88 runs from 50 balls.

In the last World Twenty20 Matthew Hayden scored 265 runs in 2007. Tillakaratne Dilshan overtakes the record and scores 317 runs. It is sure that he will be the most run record holder this year, if they could not be qualified for the final.

ICC World Twenty20 2010 in West Indies but Qualifiers UAE

With the inaugural world championship that was held in South Africa and the ICC authority decided to organize after second year. The 20-20 formatted cricket got huge popularity and the second season scheduled to be held in England and the second season tournament is passing its Super Eight round where most of the test playing countries are taking part except Bangladesh and World Champions Australia. The third festival has been scheduled in 2010 and West Indies will be the host country.

BBC

ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said: "Although the World Twenty20 is to be held every second year, we decided to hold two on the trot to set the calendar right and ensure a better spread of tournaments."

Nine test playing counties will be qualified directly but other three teams will take part by playing the qualifying round matches which scheduled to be hosted by UAE. ICC has changed it decision because of 50-over-a-side Champions Trophy that was scheduled to be held in Pakistan but postponed for the security reason. To maintain the delayed Champions Trophy festival and not to schedule two international tournaments ICC decided it.

ICC World Twenty20 Super Eight 2009 possible matches

Two matches already have been left but he point table is very stable it could keep unchanged after the tomorrow’s tournaments. From Group A, India-Ireland where India is more favorite than Ireland although England lost to Netherlands. Secondly, the encounter between Sir Lanka-West Indies from Group C and it is not impossible that Sri Lanka will be the group leader. The point table can change if Indian and West Indies lost to the opposition teams.

I have found a Schedule in Cricinfo website where they post the Super Eight fixtures despite two matches left (may be model schedule). My question will it be changed later? May be yes! If India defeat to Ireland then as a group runner-up they will not have to take on Group-B runner up Pakistan instead Group champion England.

Secondly, if Sri Lanka could be the champion then it will in the Group E where they have to take on strong India and Pakistan and New Zealand.

I personally will be very happy if India and Pakistan comes to the same group in the super eight tournaments and there would be possibility to see them in the final like 2007 World Twenty20 in South Africa

Pakistan has confirmed to play Super Eight Twenty20, 2009

The teams which will play in the second round, super-eight of the ICC World Twenty20 in 2009. Today, there is an important match between Pakistan and Netherlands after encounter it will be final that that are being qualified for the next round where 8 teams will take on each other by dividing into two sections. 7 names are confirmed and the 8th position is still empty. The listed names are India-Ireland from group A, Sri Lanka-West Indies from Group C and New Zealand-South Africa are from Group D. Although England has confirmed its position, second team from here still on pending.

When I was writing on this article Pakistan was on the way for super eight. Netherlands already has lost 8 wickets to over come the target of Pakistan that it scored 175 runs in the first innings. It is confirmed the Pakistan will dominated in the next round.

Two test playing countries have wiped out form the list. Among them limited over champions Australia and Bangladesh there too. The New team Ireland has made its position with quality. Although Netherlands fought a lot eligible for super eight, event they beat host England but Pakistan demolished their dream at the last match. Pakistan spinner Shahid Afridi’s aggressive bowling could not built any strong base. He also scored 13 runs.

Losing to England, Pakistan felt in big pressure for the next round. Netherlands lead the group because they beat England in first match of the Twenty20 second season. This was a big challenge for Pak team and was not way to add big runs on the score board. Wining toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and scored 175 runs. Netherlands could not overtake the challenge of 151 runs that was qualified runs for them and lost all wickets just adding 91 runs.

Australia vs Sri Lanka Twenty20 World 2009: Challenge for Australia to play in super eight

There are two important tournaments in England today. One is kicking off between Bangladesh and Ireland which is taking place at ICC World T20, 7th tournament of Group A and must win mach for Tigers at Nottingham. Ireland who won the toss and elected to bat first and the opposition has come to field for with making the batting side strong. For Ireland, it is very positive and comfortable weather but difficult for Bangladesh to suite. To reach the super eight there is no way of win for the both teams.

There will be another important clash between Australian and Sri Lanka at the end of the day. The limited over champions already have lost to West Indies and first battle for the Lankan teammates. The kick off time is scheduled to stat at 17:30 local time (16:30 GMT) and very tough time table for the Australian people.

Aussie’s wining records are not well at all from the last couple of tours observation even their last World championship in South Africa. Lankan wining rate is well stable than Australian and just one wins among the last five as well archiving three wins among the five match their position is very strong.

By being group champions, both the team played in the super eight matches but could not play in the final of the inaugural ceremony. But the other group mate, West Indies wiped out for the group round section. Lost to Bangladesh they had to stop dream to play in the super eight. But this year they got one win and hoping to play in the super eight but it is depending on for the next match along with other group mate.

In last world championship, Australia beat Sri Lanka by ten wickets. That was the qualified match for semi final. But this year, the situation is totally different but has some resemblance. This match may be the qualified match for the Aussies.

S R Clark’s aggressive bowling made breakthrough over the Sri Lankan batting and could not score more that 101 runs for 10 wickets and Lankan bowlers’ could not make any barrier over the Australian batsmen. When Muttiah Muralitharan was not present but this year he is one the squad and Aussies are not so strong team this year.

There are some key player in both teams who attended in Indian Premier league second season in South Africa especially A Symonds, B Lee and DA Warner. Similarly for the others, KC Sangakkara, M Muralitharan, and DPMD Jayawardene but ST Jayasuriya is one of the experiences men of the team.

Bangladesh vs India 4th Match Group A, Trent Bridge, Nottingham

The host England beat to Netherlands in the fist match of Group B, I think that will shake most of the test playing countries. England hoped that they will show outstanding performances in the second season of ICC World Twenty20. But the first match stops them for some of their mistake.

Today India will take on Bangladesh at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in the 4th match of the group-A round match. Indian is number 1 ranked team if Twenty20 formatted cricket match. In the warm-up matches India played a great cricket but although they beat to New Zealand. They able to best arch rival Pakistan and dominated strongly.

As per I can remember that India did not get bet to Bangladesh anymore but One-day internationals. Although Bangladesh is not a strong team in world twenty20 but the players have practice in the home series before world stage.

Anyway this is not time to say anything, time will say. I think, India is taking safely position after England match along with Netherlands
