On September 10, 2008, Honda Motor Company’s Thailand subsidiary Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co. Ltd. started the sales of its CITY. The first generation Honda CITY was introduced in 1996. With its rising popularity, CITY has become one of the core models of Honda Motor Company like Civic, Accord, CR-V and Jazz (Fit). The car sales crossed one million in late May 2008. Today it is produced in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, China, and Turkey. People of 39 nations ride the CITY. Honda is now planning to expand CITY sales in growing auto markets. Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co. Ltd. is planning to support the startup production in China and India.
The current CITY is the third generation of CITY sub-compact sedan. It has better interior space that would give the passengers an open and secure feeling. The CITY is run by 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine. In edition, the car has all the upgraded safety equipments and very much fuel efficient.
