The first ODI was over and England secured a crucial victory against New Zealand of 114 runs. The both side bowling and batting has brought the notable wins. The fans who watch the match live could understand that England is playing their excellent match in the last two matches Twenty20 international and One Day International.

The host England secured an important victory against Black Caps in Tewnty20 match and First ODI, which will inspire to play a best cricket in the 2nd ODI match that will be held at Edgbaston, Birmingham. It is the summer season in England now that is why all matches are taking place as a Day-light match.

In the first ODI Cricket tournament of the ongoing NatWest Series 2008 almost all players played well and I R Bell, K P Pietersen and captain P D Collingwood’s strong batting reached England in a top high score of 307 runs by losing 5 wickets. K P Pietersen, who is playing a lot of matches form the Word cup did not acquired any hundred.

It was Pietersen's first hundred since the World Cup, 15 months and 21 matches ago, and his first in a one-day international in England. It provided more than a third of England's total of 307 for five. New Zealand's response was always going to centre on their playmakers Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor. But when neither reached 50, the task proved too great as England romped home by a whopping 114 runs.

Although the opening bowlers Anderson and Sidebottom could not show any economy with their bowling but Broad, Swann and skipper Collingwood’s aggressive bowling destroyed all the base of the New Zealand’s batting line-up. Collingwood obtained 4 wicket form 15 runs. May be this is one of his best bowing figure.

All the figures are forecasting that England will show other big performances in the 2nd ODI match too.
