Englishman Samit Patel will join in the IPL T20 second season

This is the first time England cricketers are going to attend in the BCCI organized Indian Premier League. Last year, the DLF IPL T20 was inaugurated during the home cricket series of England that is why no players attend in the tournament. Though the English all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas who signed up to play on the favor of Rajsthan Royals but could not able to play. This year, in the second season of the IPL two players have confirmed to join in the tournament. Even the authority has shown green signal to join. 

The young Englishman Samit Patel, the spinner showed very good performances against South Africa. At present he is playing on Nottinghamshire club in the home cricket. The director of Nottinghamshire Mick Newell allows him to join IPL in spite of West Indies Test series.

"I'm looking forward to playing alongside and against the best players in the world," said Patel, who is on an ECB increment contract over the summer.

 

Last year, Chairman and Commissioner of Indian Premier League (IPL T20) Lalit Modi tried heart and soul and met to the ECB about to English players in IPL and that is why the second season of IPL T20 has been scheduled before the England home series and during the gap before the West Indies tour.

Dimitri Mascarenhas: The Booster of Rajasthan Royals in IPL

IPLT20 is an Indian formatted Twenty20 cricket tournament. The BCCI setup it to protest ICL and ICC is backing up it. It was one kind of tournament like English Premier League (EPL) where foreign cricketer will take part beside the Indian players. Some of cricketers have joined the inaugural tournament except the English. The English County Cricket is running at the same time of Indian Premier League.

Mascarenhas' arrival will bolster Rajasthan, who are now second in the IPL standings after three-successive victories, and he hoped that his team would be able to sustain their momentum. "The biggest challenge for the Royals from hereon is to achieve consistent winning results. The team has had an amazing run after the first game and the main objective now is to force our way into the semi-finals and then the final," Mascarenhas told the Hindu.

The first English man has come to join IPL on behalf of Rajasthan Royals. The team just has lost one match among the fours. The fifth match of Rajasthan Royals will be held on 1 May against Kolkata Knight Riders.
