England Vs West Indies 2nd Test: 1st day highlight of first innings

The second and final test against West Indies has commenced on May 14, 2009 at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street and the first innings is totally on the control of the host. Two batsmen have perused two centuries and depending on it they are going to take a bid lead from the first innings. Wining toss, England elected to bat first. England, who chose to bat first.

 

Losing early wicket, England fall in pressure when they perused just 69 runs and the second wicket sent off second wicket scoring 282. LS Baker and CH Gayle picked up one wicket each. AN Cook and RS Bopara perused century and AN Cook is still not out.

 

At the end of the first day England scored 302 for 2 wickets. West Indies used six bowlers but two just has got success.

RS Bopara: 100 off 183 balls (12 x 4, 1 x 6)

England: 300 runs in 89.3 overs (554 balls), Extras 38
