Anil Kumble has drawn the attentions of the cricket fan all over the world again. He has achieved another record in Twenty20 formatted cricket beside his one-day internationals and Test cricket history. He is play on the side of Bangalore Royal Challengers. In the 2nd match of IPL 2009 season 2, BRC has its first match along with RR and BRC got wins in their first match.

In the previous article I informed wrong and mentioned that Anil Kumble has picked up 6 wickets in stead of 5 wickets of Rajasthan Royals. Wining toss Bangalore Royal Challengers elected to bat first and faced batting tragedy earlier and cashed only 133 runs from 20 over and lost wickets.

Although at the end of the first innings it seems that winning toss and batting first was not very good decision but when Rajasthan Royals batsmen admitted defeat to the Bangalore Royals Challengers’ bowlers after short breaks. Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble preformed his best bowling figure in the tournament and has taken 5 wickets just for 5 runs. He took YK Pathan, RA Jadeja, SK Warne, MM Patel and Kamran Khan’s wicket.

IPL 2009: 2nd match result and highlights, Anil Kumble takes 5 wickets

The second match of Indian Premier League season 2 was between Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore Royal challengers was held in the same ground where the 1st match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indian was commenced on, at Newlands Cape Town. MI has won the match and felt in heavy competition. In the 2nd match Bangalore Royals Challenger won the toll and elected bat first.

From the first time Bangalore Royals Challenger felt huge batting downfall lost two wickets in the first over. It lost JD Ryder, RV Uthappa and LRPL Taylor, the three premier wickets just adding 17 runs. This sequence was continued after short breaks.

Mascarenhas picked up 3 wickets for 20 runs Shane Wane and MM Patel took 2 wickets each.

Rajasthan Royals repeated the same things as Bangalore Royal challengers did during the batting time. It lost earlier three wickets just for 14 runs and BRC packed them in 58 runs. Three batsmen scored same and highest runs and that was 11 runs. It is really unbelievable that the champions had to be booked in 58 runs.

Anil Kumble figured the best bowling and picket up 5 wickets in an innings just for 5 runs and P Kumar and JD Ryder picket 2 wickets each.

It is clear the Anil Kumble will be the star of the tournament and Man of the match. Anil Kumble is the second man who secured 6 wickets in an innings. In the last year Sohail Tanvir picked up 6 wickets for 14 runs. Now Kumble holds the best bowling record.

4 players have achieved the maximum six awards. And Man of the Match goes to Rahul Dravid for outstanding job in this innings because he holds the teams searing during the bad time of the team and scored 66 runs.

Sourav, Rahul, Laxman, Sachin and Anil should go to retirement

Once up on a time, in Indian cricket there was a golden time that has been passed when Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tecdulkar dominated the oppositions during the firs 15 overs. India was the top most team that will more runs during the restricted fielding time. By the time being it Sourv and Sachin is in aged and the in the last 10 matches they did not do well in ODI a Test.

Recently, there was news in Indian media that Sourav Ganguly has planned to take retirement for the international cricket when he has been kept his name from the next Home Test series alongside Australia. After getting some change in the selection board of Indian Cricket board, some of older players get opportunities to play the home Test series including Sourav. Beside, they all have got notice to go to retirement form the International cricket.

Cricket-mad India is fiercely debating whether it is time for their record-breaking batsmen Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Vangipurappu Laxman as well as spinner Anil Kumble, the test captain, all well into their 30s, to quit.

I think, India needs to take some change for future and should get opportunity for the young players.

Drear readers, I want to remind you that Kumble took 10 wickets against Pakistan in 1999.

SouthAsiaBiz reported

However, many cricket fans do not even know who the third highest wicket taker in test cricket is. Yes, it is Anil Kumble, the man who has been doing his job silently for India. Kumble is unlucky that he is in an era of Inidan cricket when batmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid took away all the media spot.

Now it is an important issue in Indian cricket because the juniors are doing well but the evolvement of Kumble will take away the opportunity of the juniors Harbhajan Singh or Murali Kartik who did well for the both series home and aboard.
