IPL season 4 to star just after time of 2011 Cricket World Cup!

The dates of Indian Premier League season 4 have been announced. IPL Governing Council has declared in a meeting that the tournament will start on April 8 next year .It is just 6 days after the conclusion of the Cricket World Cup. Question has been raised whether it will be fair for of course some of the players of the world cup cricket will take part in the IPL and it may be over bearing for them.


IPL Governing Council held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss about the next IPL. According to the decision of the meeting the auction of the players will be held on 8 January in Mumbai and the inauguration ceremony will be held on 7th April. 

This year also 8 teams will take part in the high profile IPL. The Governing Council Have introduced a new format for IPL 4.As per the new format the finalist will be chosen not in traditional way. The finalists will be chosen in play- off system. In semifinals the play –offs will be held according to the league standing with the play-off 1 and play-of 2. Play –off 1 will be decided from the match between Team 1 and Team 2 and play –off between team 3 and team 4. The team winning play –off 1 will qualify for the final. The loser oh the play-off 1 will play with the winning team of play-off 2.The winning team of this match is one of the finalist. The grand finale is to be held on 22nd may.

Rajeev Shukla, BCCI vice-president and IPL Governing member said that the meeting was for discussing the preparation of IPL 4and it was going in full swing.

However the issue of the Kochi was not discussed in the meeting.
